were just getting cheap rings, I have my nice but relatively cheap Ering, £125, but not really a ring person, so just want a thinnish plain band to curve slightly round it and , oh wants a basic cheap plain band, as he won't be able to wear it alot of the time (hes a chef) so if it was lost i would prefer he lost a £80 ring than a £300 one.

We need to go and visit our jewellers, we found them at a wedding fayre too. We have a voucher somewhere for 10% off and some free pearl earrings if we get them from there :) the rings are lovely as well and reasonably expensive. I was surprised to be honest when I saw them as they looked like they'd be more expensive. I was expecting to get my rings from a high street jewellers, I'm glad we've found this other one :)

Can't wait to go and get our rings sorted actually, well my ring... my fiancé has his, it's his dad's, his dad had an accident at work and it broke his finger, so his ring no longer fits-they couldn't make the ring bigger but said they could make it one size smaller, which hopefully will make it the right size for my fiancé. So we just have to look at getting that re-sized.

I want to get some of the personalised m&m's, I think they'd look great in our wedding colours, but he isn't convinced... and they do cost a lot of money :(

hi does anyone know how far in advance you need to book the florist?

I really enjoyed playing in the photobooths at the last wedding fayre we went to MrsMalin2b and we entered a competition to win one, but it's not something I would personally pay for (was a bit gutted we didn't win it though) I think they're great if it's what you want, just not for us. I think they're more for your guests and I'm being a bit more selfish then that and spending money on things I'll enjoy more :p like my violinist, I decided we wanted her at the wedding breakfast and not the Church because I wanted to listen to her haha (also because at the breakfast we can get her to play cooler stuff then for the ceremony)


I'm getting tempted by a chocolate fountain, oh isn't convinced on them either, he said if we won one great, but not paying for one. Which I can sort of see his point, we'd have to wait until closer to the time to see if we could afford one in the budget.... but then saying that would we not rather have that extra money for the honeymoon or for putting towards baby stuff as we're planning on continuing our family once we're married? We already have our wedding cake which will feed way more people then we have going and a candy cart.... so plenty of puddings available.


I know the m&m's are amazing.... stupid fiancé...... at least we have ages until the big day, I might convince him yet haha

I recently went to a wedding that had a photo booth but didn't arrive till 8pm and most ppl had left then! It ended up just the kids going in and out loads and the bride was going around trying to drag adults into it I guess it's just a love or hate thing !!

The love hearts and M&M's are great but personally I wouldn't waste my money on them. Our photobooth is arriving at 7pm which is the start of the evening reception so hopefully people will get a lot of use out of it :)

personally im not a big fan of photobooths, suppose mainl coz i like candid shots,but specially because the amount they cost.
also im not a big fan of chocolate fountains full stop due to fear of cleanliness of them, but specially for weddings due to chocolate fingers coming near my dress, this has also influenced the choice in menu so not to have anything with to much sauce etc as i have had nightmeres of stuff getting spilt on my dress.

It's lovely, I'm not good at guessing prices lol.

Finally got my sister to agree a date in June for bridesmaid dress shopping sat 21st June can't wait, then that's half the bridal party outfits sorted and will go and sort the guys out at the end of this year once we have decided 100% what tartan we are going with x

I've ordered my dress, we've found the cars (church and venue booked months ago...reception is pretty much all inclusive but we opted to supply our own wine and DJ so we can control the quality).

Biggest 'mare so far is finding the bridesmaid and flower girl dresses. Have a strong idea what we want, but can't find stockists in this country. Worried we'll end up too far over budget having them made or imported from the USA. Better start saving harder x

I've seen lots of shoes with bows on, high, mid and flat ballet/dolly shoes. I'm looking at a mid heel and change to flats in the evening. We are about the same height too.

Yeah I would only worry about booking early if you were having a summer wedding.

I already have my bouquet but it was limited edition so I brought it before someone else did ;p But I will buy the other flowers nearer the time.

Urrrgh kind of annoyed; my fmil has decided that she wants h2b to include the kids and make them flower girls;page boys and junior bridesmaids (in Chloe's case). I'm kind of annoyed as h2b said he did want the kids involved in the ceremony and breakfast which would be fine if he had told me in the first place as we had originally agreed that there would be no kids till the evening reception. But as long as fmil sticks to what she has said and pays for the dresses e.t.c then I don't mind though we'll still have to fork out another £60 to include them in the wedding breakfast (it's £14.99 for kids instead of £24.99) along with flowers and activities...

I might just get them flower girl wands but not sure what to get for gifts or activities? Do I need to?

We actually visited our local florist today, our family have used her before for weddings, funerals, etc, so she was highly recommended to us. She has written down everything we want & is going to email us a quote tonight, she did say my bouquet would be around £45 & the buttonholes £3.

We booked our flowers on Tuesday :) Loved the florist such a bright bubbly person!
Got a few things to finalise with them and stuff but the deposit is down and we have a price for most of the things we want!

Trying to motivate the OH to arrange entertainment. Its becoming a challenge, wish he would realise how important these things are. His lack of enthusiasm is really getting me down at the moment :-(

Aww Amanda men just don't think at times, my h2b is useless and is so laidback he'd plan everything a week before lol.

I couldn't allow anyone to pay for anything as such I am such a control freak and stress if everything isn't in order if anyne offered to pay for something I would need to have the budget for it incase they couldn't pay for it.

My parents will give us what they can a month or so before the wedding. (They are really bad for cash and have no savings) I don't want them to stress about cash though and I know they will do their best and if that's £50 then I'll be happy. Don't expect anything for mil as she hates me and thinks oh is making a big mistake marrying me. Yeah it only took him 8 years to propose so I think he knows his own mind well enough.

Ohs aunt offered to pay for a videographer and at the time we weren't sure if we wanted one and told her thanks but were not sure she was fine with that but we have now decided we are having one and I don't want to hurt her feelings so not sure what to do there sadly fil is no longer with us and she is his sister and wants the best for us.
