My first post on the 2015 brides page!

Yet to go dress shopping myself but the pics you girlies are posting we gorgeous! Catherine yours is stunning and Donna, I'd personally say dress 1 but then it is your personal preference and whatever makes you feel like a princess!

Me and hubby 2b went ring shopping yesterday and found the perfect rings £100 below budget so very happy with that. How some places charge so much for exactly the same I do not know!

Bridesmaid dresses all done. Just going to change the belt and make something with ribbon or get some bling maybe, which Do you guys think- ribbon or bling?

My mum hates the dresses but I told her tough in a nicer way. After all, she isn't the one wearing it!

Ali what about a blingy belt (I live bling) or a big ivory ribbon of sorts.

Mrsbull2b sorry your oh list his job it's a big stress for everyone hope he finds one soon if he hadn't already.

I've had a major headache all weekend stress I really don't need to be involved in and I had my first wedding related rant, the hotel messed up the rooms that had already been booked, my SIL has caused a stink and I'm stressed, h2b has been great and gas said to take a step back and let them sort it out themselves if they had booked when told they wouldn't have this problem, he's right and he's also said if they don't stop stressing me out he's going to say something to them as he's not having me I a state when really it has nothing to do with me. (He might be an ass at time but he does care lol)

On a positive note I get to try the sample dress on again on Thursday evening and my mum and best friend are coming with me as well as my sister but she has seen the dress, I'm going to try on veils and tai areas while the sample is still in store (or so the store can push me to buy one) either way it will give me a chance to see what looks good with the dress while I ihave it on and I'm really looking forward to it. Hopefully I can get to take some pictures xx

Hi all, it's now 13 months until i get married - i'm not entirely sure when to send out the save the dates? It's May bank holiday weekend. Do i them out at 12months (May) or 9 (August) months? I think i may send out the proper invites in Jan (4 months before). What are your thoughts?

I would go for 12 months if you can get them organised for then - it links in nicely with the whole 'this time next year' thing and it means that people hopefully wont book anything else up...but i don't think it matters too much getting them sent somewhere in between the 12 month to 9 month mark...? although i am not exactly an expert as I decided not to do save the dates in the end as we will be out of the country til 4 months before so it would have been too much agg! i'm probably tempting fate but everyone who I most want there definitely won't be making any other plans and anyone else who does just means I can bump people up from evening to whole day haha! we are sending our invites out pretty early though - nov/dec this year...we are getting married in May too but right at the end :) xx

We're not bothering with std's because they would have just added to the cost as quite a few we would have to send away so just going to send out the invites; probably in May as our wedding day falls on a weekday so won't to give people advance notice as they may need to book two days off (if they decided to stay on the night).

We've also booked a meeting with a local florist for Tuesday the 15th of this month! So excited to go an get some ideas of what I really want!

We are going to send out std's as well but through emails as apart from about 10 people, everyone will be on holidays and don't want to overrun with them and also give people time to get leave. At the end of the day, it'll barely cost anything and we may send our invites the same way! x

I didn't bother with save the dates, I wrote it Christmas cards instead.
I put together a free wedding website with all the details of the venues etc, but he still wants to send invites!
The website is great, and almost ready, just need to decide on gift list ideas...we've been together so long it feels wrong to ask for things, but everyone's been asking when our list will be ready...
Any thoughts on a honeymoon fund? As we can't afford to go away due to being a bit extravagant with the wedding itself.

I think a honeymoon fund is a great idea, you can get some lovely poems you can send to ask for them as well. Our friends asked for money towards the honeymoon, they just sent a letter with the invites basically saying that people did not need to get them anything, but if they really wanted to give them something then they'd like money towards their honeymoon as they weren't sure if they'd be getting one or not.

I only have a signed photo from David Tennant; would be so nice to have a written letter or email though. So far; two people (agencies) have got back to me; one said that she couldn't help me with my request Ramin is currently performing in the US and she suggested writing to him there but I've tried that before and didn't get a response so not going to pay out to send to the US as it can be quite costly and apparently you need to get a customs note now to post anything....

The other one told me she could arrange for a signed photo to be sent but I have to send a SAE to them...guess I'll have to do that :)

    Elizabeth you look beautiful x

I have been planning on getting a 'china dress' & as they are made to measure I was planning on putting off ordering until next year. My OH has been pestering me to order it soon, his reasons being that if its badly made, poor material/detail etc then we have plenty of time to order the real dress from a bridal shop. I've compromised a little & have agreed to order it once I have lost 3 stone, I've lost 17.5lb so far so hoping to achieve my target by July/August.

Keira that's fantastic how much you've lost already. Im struggling and I putting it on instead. I didn't imagine id get my dress so early I just fell in love with it and got it. Don't get 'my' dress until the end of april next year.

She's halving her prices as we want to invite her as a guest anyway but I'm so thrilled about this! Definitely, we were going to have to pay more than that for just our hair and make-up alone so I'm really chuffed she offered this :) we want her there as a guest anyway but I think Debbie was more worried about her thinking we are inviting her as guest just because she's their hairdresser but it's not like that at all. Granted it's handy but she's known the family since they were kids and genuinely someone we'd all like there!

Oh dear, it is a tad depressing. We are quite pleased actually re budget, because of this hair news and also that we hope (fingers crossed) to use the church, we have effectively cut over £1,500 from the budget taking it to just over £7,000 so it can be done even if it is stressful!

We can afford to save for the wedding so I'm not worried about saving for it it's just the overall cost that's a bit depressing. I think on that we have to forget about something's and see where we can cut some off.

Been looking into caricaturists this weekend! It's a bit different, guests have got favours and a fun time all in one and acts as a different photobooth option which seems to be the typical norm nowadays! A bit pricey but now we'll have a bit more money to play with, we can afford a few more things like this :) excited!

I think a caricaturist is a fab idea they are a bit pricey though but then when you weigh up how much favours are going to cost will it be that much more?

Ive just sat down with H2B and worked out how much we will save from now until the end of June next year and there is no need for me to panic we can afford it and some space for manoeuvre so i'm a bit more relaxed.

Various people owe us money and it amounts to £3500+ and I hadn't factored that in my initial analysis Plus ive over budgeted for a few things :)

Just be careful where you book one from though Catherine, as my sister booked one through an agency and he just never turned up, she called the agency to see where he was and they said ''oh well maybe he's not very well'' they then went on to say how unreasonable she was being because he was an old man and she should understand that he might not be very well!

I can never remember whether she got her money back or not

They are a bit pricey but then if you factor in all the money we could potentially be using on making/sourcing favours I think it's worth it. Also, the usual sweets etc don't last long, barely to the end of the evening whereas this they can take home, frame and remember our day for years to come instead so a few extra coppers I think is worth it! What do you think? Also, I think it's a bit different, fun, keeps everyone excited and not too bored :) the favours was an after thought actually though and was something wanted anyway but suddenly thought, we could use this as favours too and all we'd have to do is put a little card on all their tables explaining and off they go!

Great news on the budget hun, was a little worried for you yesterday so I'm glad things are a little more comfortable x

    Oh gosh Donna that horrible.

My wedding planner at our venue has just went off on Mat leave until the end of October. Not a big deal as most things are sorted for the time being and She will be back well before we need to do anything further plus there is two other girls that are wedding co-ordinators if we really need anything.

I think it's a lovely idea Catherine, much better then a photo booth as it's something different (no offence to anyone having a photo booth)
