    Hello Ladies,

Just wanted to let some of you know due to some family circumstances that my fiancé and I have discussed at length and have decided to postpone our wedding date again, our main concern at the moment is the family member and their recovery so have pushed it back another year.

Good Luck & Hope you have amazing days to all the ladies getting married next year

The bridal shop I've got my dress from has just phoned me to say they are having an accessory event in April where I get to put my sample dress on and choose what vile tiara would go best with it.

Just hoping my mum is able to come with me this time. (She works crazy hours and couldn't come the day I found the dress).

Mrs wade2b sorry you've had to postpone the wedding.

Amanda your daughter is gorgeous and so is the dress. I haven't decided if I'm having a flower girl or not if I do it will be my friends wee one who is Connors best friend she is the only child except our son and three nephews invited to the wedding so would be a nice touch but I also want my son to stand out on his own x

I'm not so worried about the mishaps, one of the reasons I'm not sure about asking is I feel mean stealing her from her Daddy, I'm already stealing his wife to be a bridesmaid and he has said he is looking forward to his Daddy and daughter day

Now you have your dress you can start to decide on everything else like bridesmaid dresses and hair styles ect. :)

Managed to find a great venue decoration company and got a good price :D

Found one company for venue decoration who would charge £499 for complete package pus £175 for starlight background then found another company who do very similar stuff and managed to haggle it down by removing things we do not need or can get somewhere else cheaper and also managed to get their starlight background down to £150 instead of £175 which was half price anyway so total package for the is £450 instead of £550 including the background

    That's fab MrsMalin2b :D

we managed the same with venue decoration, found someone with a good package and then they had half price candy cart if you bought the package, but then we found someone else who didn't do packages, but that meant we just asked for what we wanted so cut out all the extra's in the package we weren't bothered about and although we paid full price for the candy cart the whole lot came out loads cheaper and the stuff looks a lot better. The candy cart looks way better, centre pieces are a lot nicer ect. sometimes the packages really aren't that good value if you're paying for stuff you don't actually want.

After the ceremony we'll all come back to our house for a lovely summer bbq. No fuss, no faff, no stress. Perfect! :) x

AgTi that must make you feel great when you hear him practising and knowing hes playing your wedding.

Me ive had a very productive weekend it was the Scottish wedding show this weekend and I went with my sister ive only gone and ordered my cake I just love it cost a bit more than budgeted for but still I love it.
    Cake
    Cake
the only change we will make to this is the ribbon it will either be H2bs tartan or the tartan of the rest of the bridal party.

I have now decided im going for real flowers rather than artificial got a fantastic quote today and they looks so much nicer than the artificial ones I had my eye on. Invites are giving me a sore head as we just cant decide on a design and there is so many to choose from.

We were listening to some first dance songs last night and although its not a traditional first dance song I am considering Ohs suggestion of nickelback: never gonna be alone.

I don't really have much more to organise the next biggest thing is the coaches will need to sit down and think who will def be using the coach and who will be staying over.

What are your thoughts on having two different colours as a theme and having the bridesmaids in different to the groomsmen, but with little touches for each other?

I'm really struggling with finding the right colour dress in a shop for the green we have gone for (we wanted emerald but found out after we booked the suits that they don't do an emerald it's hunter green and fiancé doesn't seem to want to budge and go for any of the other colours they have that I like)

So we were thinking maybe going for either lilac or yellow and if we can't find the dresses having the men with the green but with their button hole the other colour and the bridesmaids with the other colour dress and little touches of the other colour. (although I'm still not sold :( I really like some other colours which will look more summery)

Go for whatever you like Donna; see how those colours look together before buying first though :)

Ashley - never to early to start planning; it makes the process less stressful; we are putting the deposit down for our venue; this Wednesday and we get married in May next year so only a year or so but if we had found the venue sooner then I would have booked much sooner :)

Donna - I think that sounds lovely. Id probably have men in green with a yellow flower button hole, with ladies in yellow, with green belt and flowers to match, but of course its up to you. We're having pink and orange with men/BMs wearing pink but having orange flowers. I like mix and match colours.

This is also due to the fact my close family live 200 miles away so doing it when we all get the chance to do it together! We have a lot planned in the next few months am hoping this year flies by!

I'm still thinking two colours, but going to see if I can convince my fiancé to have purple and yellow instead... if not I think I'll stick with the green and yellow but def have the bridesmaids in yellow with green accents as the green really is dark and I think it takes over a bit.

If you search for purple and yellow weddings there are some gorgeous flowers you can have with that scheme. I love pink and orange as well, someone showed us it when they were showing us venue decoration and it is stunning. Fiancé wouldn't agree to that one though.

Ashley, we got engaged on new years eve and started looking at venue's straight away, by mid Jan we had booked a venue and on the first of Feb we booked the Church (which was a massive relief I was starting to worry we'd have a venue but not actually get married lol) I have all my big things booked now except for flowers :) I'd rather book things early and give myself time to change my mind and make sure we have the things we really want booked rather then rushing and having everything already booked by other weddings. As you can see I've already changed my mind on the colour scheme and that was after saying for years that I'd want a green colour scheme when I got married.

How funny - I was trying to convince my sister to have purple and yellow, as she is getting married Easter weekend and tied in well. Think she is just doing purple now, but its a lovely colou combo if you can talk your hubby round!

Ashley - we've booked all the big stuff already; venue, registrar, photographer, videographer, magician (he's award winning hence booking him now!), acoustic guitar singer, cake. Also bought centre pieces, rings, BMs gifts and my dress. Considering my dress takes 9 months to make and photographers already had bookings for 2015 last year its never too early!

Haha I did think it was very Spring/Eastery, but think it works for summer as well, much better then hunter green

And he's come home and he really likes it :D

I think we'd sort of been railroaded by ourselves into thinking we had to have the hunter green as they didn't have the emerald green for the suits and because the venue is very very nice we needed a formal scheme as well. But feel like a weight has been lifted :) we both feel more comfortable with it and can work around what colours they have for the suits, also just because the venue is very very nice doesn't mean a less traditional/formal colour scheme wouldn't work :)

Ahhhh yay. Brownie points for hubby then :-) I think sometimes the type of venue puts people off being brave with colour schemes, in case it wont suit, spesh if its quite a formal or 'posh' place, but I think they brighten them up if anything. I'm sure it will look great in your venue and time of year. Hunter green is a more autumnal colour.

Yeah I think it will work well with our venue, but we did feel at first that we had to stick with formal because it's a lovely stately home, we felt we needed to stick with that as a theme, but there's no reason to do that :) Hunter green is def more autumnal and it's been bothering me for a while now.

Now I just need to hope neither of my bridesmaids mind being in a yellow dress.... as I'd prefer the yellow dress with purple accessories I think.

Well we went an visited the venue today, walked out the music and it fits perfectly! So happy with that!

Got about £350 off for not having dj and desert, an drinks package but the mil is wanting to bring in her own wine for £10corkage per bottle ! Which I will not drink. ( I hate wine)

Have actually managed to work out my seating plan in under 2 hours everybody! Including having who to bump if certain people who are unlikely to attend due to living in oz!

But now i have a dilema, my band said that they require 6 meter with set up snd im pretty sure the stage at our venue is 4.5 /5 at most.

Plus definatly need to move the time of the ceremony foreard atleast an hour pref a hour an half due to the band not being sble to come in the back like I thought.which means in goung to have to pay thous bloody money grabbing piachers the £10 admin fee to change one little number

Thanks everyone, I just loved the cake the first time I saw it and loved it again at the weekend, I'm so happy h2b said just to get it :-)

Donna I think it will look ok with the different colours, people think I'm nuts that my h2b and our son will be in different kilts to the rest of the guys. Glad h2b liked your idea of purple (purple is our colour scheme mostly) I think your right about yellow dresses with purple accessories.

Ashleyk2 congrats on booking your wedding, I've pretty much organised everything and I don't get married to August 2015.

Lana that's a great saving on your venue, why does your mil want to bring wine in does the venue not do wine? Ask the band if they have played your venue before and see what they say. I'd be gutted if I found a band and the venue was too small. I so jealous you've sorted a seating plan I actually dread doing ours.

Shes a wineo and has this specific wine she loves so wants to bring that in, she did it for her daughters wedding too.

I found this really cool idea for doing the seating plan on pin site. so you can put people in places and then move if you want and its not a big deal.

Well I've seen a dress I really like and showed it to my bridesmaids, who both really like it. But are insisting I wait until I find my dress, which is fair enough I suppose :p

Just worried about possibly needing a spray tan, but we've agreed we're going to either all go and tan together so we're the same colour or none of us tan. Will wait till we all have our dresses and decide whether we need it or not

I think having your h2b and your son in the same colour but different to others is a lovely idea, my h2b wants to be the only one in a top hat and people have said that's silly, but it's his wedding if he wants the monopoly on top hats he can do ;)

I don't know if to have a spray tan or not for my wedding day; I'm really pale normally (my photo in my signature was a week after I got back from Portugal lol) but h2b likes that so not sure.

That is a really cool idea Lana :)

Maybe do what I do and see how you feel in your dress first, then if you can have a spray tan well before to see how it looks before making the decision.

I look great with a tan but like you the only time I've had one is coming back from holiday and I don't think I can afford a break just to get a tan lol.

My bridesmaids getting one or not is purely going to be based on whether I need one I think :p but saying that if they think they'll be washed out in yellow, I think I would look washed out in white or ivory

I'm thinking probably best going white with the colour scheme though, don't you? or do you think cream or ivory would look okay?

    Hi ladies,

I'm new to this forum and wedding planning!! We've been engaged since 2008 but together since 2004. We recently booked our wedding for 9th May 2015. We're so excited! We're meeting with a fantastic photographer on Sunday after meeting her at a wedding fayre at our venue on Sunday, along with a fab cake maker, dj and company to do stationary!! Off to the wedding show on Saturday and so excited to look at dresses :-)

Love reading all your stories about your wedding plans! x

Hi welcome to 2015 brides MrsKCtobe :D and congrats on booking your wedding.

Have you got any idea's on a theme yet?

I need to get my bum in gear and call a couple of shops about going to try some dresses on next weekend (8th March) I'm going on the 22nd with my mum and bridesmaids but there's a couple of other shops I'd like to go to so just me and my mum are going to go before. There is one dress I really want to try on, that's in one of the shops on the 22nd so I'm going to try as many others on before that to just double-y make sure it is the one before I try it on ;)

Lana - good idea with the table plan seating. I have been using the one on here but would be so much easier to have it to hand!

MrsKCtobe - welcome, and congrats on booking your wedding. Time will fly by. We got engaged last July and seems the last 7 months went by in a flash!

Donna - have you tried any dresses yet? Try on every style going as you probably wont end up with what you thought you would!
