get a rite bargain for my photos! pre weddin shoot, photos from gettin ready til last dance, preview album, any album i want 9 prob stprybook- either arcylic finish or metal wiv 95 photos in) dvd wiv sound track of my choice then 2 coffee table books! all for £1000 but she said i can either hav the 2 books or the copyrite cd! now which to choose?

Personally i'd go for the cd! There are loads of photo places online that do the coffee table books at reasonable prices, and if you have the c.d you can get the pics you want in them so they are not identical to yours (which they usually are if you get from the photographer).

that is really goo price. can you not pay little bit extra for both. we are paying the same for same and had the choice of proof book or cd with photos. for extra £45 we are having both!!
i am sure your photograther would do same sort of thing xx

CD you can print the photos you want and make your own coffee table books then when people wants any of the pics in the books you can easily do the prints for them
i haggled lol hahahha gunna hav to do it alot more often now lol

GIRLS she just rang me.......... she says its up 2 me! but said around 6 months after she norm sells the copyrite for about £200 anyway!!

The CD and make sure you put a copy in a drop box folder on the internet and email copies to yourself. That way if you ever have a fire or flood you can make up new albums but once your albums are gone that is it. Not only that if you decide in the future to print out some bigger photos or have a canvas made you can do that but you can't do that with a coffee table book.

If you google dropbox it will come up with a site that you can use to upload 2 gig per email account. You can set up more than one email if you want to store more etc. It means that you can access the files and download them from anywhere and they will be at full resolution. If you upload to facebook and other sites etc you will find that if you copy them to download again you will only get a small image that can't be enlarged or it will pixelate.

I had a flood a few years back, not from a river but an upstairs loo that constantly over filled for two weeks while I was away. It ruined the house and lots of stuff in it which is why I'm so aware of making copies and back ups of all things that are important to me.

Oh and also we are going to copy the disc we get and send it out with the thank you cards so our guests can print off any photos they want too.

Ok, if this lady gives you the copyright then she will have to pay you money if she uses your images for promotion.
Are you getting your images in high resolution for printing on the CD?
If so there's no need to get the copyright. So you should get the books.

Get the cd!! xx Oh and by the way, you can download pixtures now on high resolution on fb. Was disappointed with it actually cos I do a lot of photography and worried about people just downloading my pictures and using it for their own benefit. I have watermark but people can still delete it on photoshop as it's not all overt the image. Anyway I guess that's good for you as you can show your photos to your fb friends then download it afterwards in hi res should anything happen with the originals x

I'd definitely get the disc with the copyright, then the images are owned by you to do what youi like with. All the photographers I spoke to wouldn't give up the copyright for a reasonable ammount.

Have a look on Google for Copyright vs Right to Copy
Copyright is entire ownership over the images.
Right to copy means you can print them out but they still belong to the photographer and have restrictions on them such as they can't be entered into competitions, used online on facebook, commercially etc.
