I have just sorted my hair which is gonna cost me £30 for a trial and £50 for the day and my bridesmaids will be £30 each. The lady who is doing my hair recommended a makeup lady but she is charging £90 (inc trial) and then a £20 admin fee to secure the booking. Do you think this is too much? my makeup is costing more than my hair and i would have thought this would be the other way round.

Does anyone know a mobile makeup person in / around chester that is a little cheaper?? thanks

Personally i say yes...... you can get a much better deal hunni!

When i started looking i thought there was no hope as everyone i looked at were charging £300 each for hair then another £300 for make up (that was for me and four bms on the day and a trial)

But after looking for agesssssss I fianally found a lady who will do hair and make up for all of us with TWO trials and its only costing £175

I got the name of mine from a lady on here (cant remember who now tut) but the lady is on fb and is about 30 miles away from me so that price includes travelling costs, even better. If you have fb i can give you her details you never know she might be willing to travel to you!

I thought my £50 was a lot for make up! (plus £40 for hair)

Had to say though she did a lot more than *just* make up and hair for me and my bridesmaids... she mended a BM dress when the zip broke, kept us organised, laced my dress, helped with close family members hats, got me into the car... And we were only 15 minutes late!!

mine is costing £35, what i noticed was if you search for bridal makeup their prices are high, i searched for beautician that does nails, waxing ect...then look to see if they also do makeup, thats how i found mine and i pref her £35 to nearly £150 some of them were charging. xx

I'm half inclined to do my own make up, going by the amounts some people are charging!

Can't wait until the day I become Mrs. Johnson :)

I've found one that does both for £70 per person and I think that's great and for 6 of us for the trial it's only costing £100 all in, which I think is great. They are based in Paisley and are called Stardust but I don't know where you are from.xx

Thanks everyone. i have managed to find one based in chester which is ideal and she sounds really nice. £75 for hair and makeup with a trial for both. originally £95 but she took £20 off coz i dont need nails or eyelashes. alot better than £110 for make up and £80 for hair!! its gonna be a busy house, me and my stylist, 4 bridesmaids and 3 other hairdressers!! my dad is gonna kill me! lol. x
