What heel height do you think is alright for a 10 year old to wear? She wants some heels and I don't mind but the little girl ones are think, chunky and don't look that nice and the adults are 3 inches high. Is this too big do you think for her? She is an adult size 3 at the moment and growing like a weed. I was thinking we could always get her some ballet pumps for later on if her feet get sore. I just don't want her breaking her neck.

Depends on the 10 year old, some are so grown up these days and are used to wearing heels. If not how about some little kitten heels, that way the heel isn't as narrow and less likely to make her feet hurt x

if shes not used to wearing heels then 3 inches, would probably be a bit high, she'd end up walking with an odd gait. why not take her shoe shopping so she can show you what she likes but you can still advise her and make sure she gets something thats suitable and that you like too

my 11 year old sister is one of my bms and we are getting her kitten heels (as hayley suggested) shes used to small heels like them so gave in to her moaning she wanted them for the wedding lol, just need to find a nice pair now xx

My little girl is the same, she will be 10 by our wedding date, she asked if she could wear a heel (she never has before) Ive seen a pair on the B hs website which look ok, they are more of a kitten heel, and the are in the sale at the min... :) xx

I'm just trying to locate some kitten heals in ivory but most of them look small but when you click on the details they are 7-8cm. Looks like I'm going to have to keep looking. I've just been looking on the BHS website Serine which ones were you looking at? Were they a shoe or a sandal? With it being Sept I was thinking a shoe would be better if its cold or wet.

yea i would say a definate no to a 3 inch heel for a 10 year old! thats far too high for growing feet! kitten heels are cute and girlie and she wouldnt look older than her years and wouldnt break her neck lol

You'll get lovely little sandal heels in next, I've got a 9 year old who loves heels, she's got heeled wedges and sandals and a pair of Mary janes, I wouldn't let her wear the big ones, too old for them xx

my 9 year old wanted heels but my 21 year old wanted flats as she cant wear heels for long... i ended up getting flat ivory balleina style shoes from bhs, they arrived yesterday and im so pleased with them, i got all 4 girls (ages 21,9,6 and 2) the same which i was having trouble with, the 2 youngest ones are the same style but have elastic across. i love them and so do my girls! have you tried debs they have a few with little heels :) x

My daughter is 11 and is one of my BMs, and I am going to buy her some ballerina pumps as it wouldn't be practical to wear heels for the reception, it is in our garden and she will end up getting stuck, lol. But she does have some shoes with little heels on them, just kitten ones, which I prefer over anything higher, she is still young after all and has plenty of time to break her neck and feet in high heels, lol. xx

I think I have managed to find some now that aren't sky scrapers and they are still proper shoes with straps on to keep her feet in them. They have cute little heels rather than the big chunky kiddy heels that she doesn't want. I'm getting her a spare pair of ballerina pumps for the night time anyway but I know she has had her heart set on some heels so I want her to have some that won't break her neck.
