I am so nervous. I have a 2 year old and I am 30 weeks pregnant. I am having a home birth but I am scared that something is going to go wrong. when I had my daughter I was 17 and I was only in labour for an hour, there was no complications and I didn't need any pain relief. I have said that I don't want any pain relief this time but now I am worried that i might need some. my partner is also panicking because we don't have a car anymore and if I go into labour when he is at work it will take him 1 hour to walk home
any advice on what I should do

Lisa,
If you are concerned, talk to your midwife and change to a hospital birth x

I think if you're worried then perhaps consider changing to a hospital birth, but defo talk to your midwife. She may be able to put your mind at rest xx

I think if u go into labour while he's at work,he should definitely be getting a taxi bk not walking!
If u had no complications last time the likelihood is that u won't this time which is why the midwives were happy for u to have a home birth, if they were worried they would have suggested against it....I had three quick labours, all under one hour,so u may find its quick this time too! Have u thought about hiring a tens machine from boots or asking for one from ur midwife if ur worried about the pain....u can also book in for gas and air to be brought to your home birth too if the pain is worrying you x

i was going to have a home birth with my last little one things didnt quite go to plan and i had a water birth instead which was amazing! im a bit of a wuss when it comes to pain and my second child was born in the back of the car with no pain relief so i was really scared i wouldnt cope with it again. the midwives were amazing and told me to book pain relief and the decide at the time wether i wanted to use it or not. As for not having your hubby there in timemaybe pre arrange with a colleague that should it happen they will bring him ? or yes defo a taxi. I still wish i had her at home but living where i live it wasnt racticl as the midwife was over an hour away from me when i rang and considering how quick the second one was they didnt want t take the risk i would not have her there so i went to the hospital and to be fair the water birth was lovely virtually pain free (well compared to previous) and very personal to me and h2b we had music playing and she was born to coming in the air tonight which made us laugh. The main thing is make sure you are entirely happy about your decision and no-ones opinion of what you "should" do matters you know what is best for you and your bump. i wish you all the very best and wherever you have the baby i hope it goes perfect and alls well with your new arrival exciting times for you!
One BIG day will lead to lots of little happy days !!
