Family owned for sixty years, this historic Jacobean manor is a much-loved, four-star hotel and award-winning wedding venue.

You'll find Holdsworth House Hotel & Restaurant amid stunning, secluded gardens. We've hosted weddings for 60 years and our reviews and awards speak for themselves.
If you want a big wedding for 150 guests or a small wedding for 10 you can choose an all-inclusive style package or a bespoke option. There are no hidden costs or price rises once you book. Our one-wedding promise means yours will be the only wedding on the day.

Finalist - Best Hotel Yorkshire, Yorkshire Tourism Awards. AA Four-Star Hotel. Built in 1633, Holdsworth House is an independent hotel set in three acres of private grounds and gardens. This is a Grade II* Listed manor with beautiful stone mullion windows. Holdsworth House is a traditional, fairy-tale setting with bags of character. Small weddings are from £2800. Big weddings are from £4995. Holdsworth House can host weddings up to 120 day guests and 150 in the evening. The hotel has 33 ensuite bedrooms, a spacious bar and award-winning restaurant. Exclusive use is available, which includes all 33 bedrooms overnight with breakfast. The hotel is fully licensed for weddings and civil partnerships. Holdsworth House is south facing, making the gardens and ceremony rooms attractive for wedding photographs. Outdoor weddings are permitted in the gardens or the hidden Courtyard from May to September. Holdsworth House in Halifax is an independent hotel that has remained in the same family for over 60 years. Only one wedding per day is ever hosted, so each couple gets the full attention of the team.

Top Wedding Tips

Make sure your venue offers a 'fresh banqueting service', which means your food is cooked and served straight away (not plated and then reheated) as it can affect the quality and flavour significantly

Ask your guests to book accommodation as soon as possible (unless your're booking Exclusive Use with us) as bedrooms are not a requirement of booking, but also aren't reserved just for weddings.

●

Once you've booked Holdsworth House, book the local registrar for your legal ceremony. Halifax registrars (can be booked up to 12 months out, contact them on 01422 288080

Really can't wait for our wedding next week at Holdsworth House Hotel in Halifax. Claire Nicholl our wedding coordinator has been an absolute star. Answering my 1001 questions every week!
The venue is an old jacobean mansion and is celebrating its 60th year under the ownership of the Pearson family. There is such a lot of history there I've made a newspaper to tell our guests all about it!
Lots of famous people have stayed there and it is used as a filming location for lots of TV and films.
You really need to visit!
When I walk in there it's like walking into a family home.

Claire Nicholl has been absolutely AMAZING. Right from the moment we stepped foot inside Holdsworth House (which is beautiful!) she was so welcoming, so informative and is doing everything she can to make our wedding as personal to us as possible. I’m a front line NHS nurse and in April 2020 ended up on the high dependency unit on a ventilator after contracting Covid-19. It really puts things into perspective, and I want my dream day - Claire is literally ALWAYS at the end of an email answering all my questions and facilitating our wishes. The venue have been amazing with guests booking rooms etc, and I’m so excited! Couldn’t ask for more xx
