From a purely personal view I started wedding photography out of love. This love was fueled by my desire to take great photographs, which has been with me since 1972 when I received my first camera as a Christmas present from my parents.
I became a hobby photographer for many years and I read lots of books and magazines. I was a sponge for anything and everything photography related, and I still am. I have taken countless pictures over the years and have tried a great many different camera's, progressing from film to digital in the late 1990's.
In 2013 my sister asked me to photograph her wedding, which I did on a semi-professional basis. The pure joy I experienced on that day, and afterwards when I looked at the photographs on my computer, made me decide it was what I wanted to do for the rest of my life.
5 weeks later I attended a business start up course, and launched GDJ Photography on an unsuspecting world soon afterwards.
I am driven to capture beautiful photographs wherever I go. I have found my perfect job, and I love doing it so much that it is not really like working at all.
Every time I photograph a wedding, every time a couple contacts me, and every time I see the photographs I have taken after a wedding I get the same rush of excitement and joy that I got on that Christmas Day way back in 1972.

P.O.ATop Wedding Tips
Always check out your photographers portfolio of full weddings. Every photographer chooses a few of the best shots for their website, what matters is the overall quality of their work.
Meet with your photographer before you part with any cash (or at least speak to them a few times over the phone). It is important that you all get on well to get the best photo's from your day.
Always check they have public liability insurance, and hopefully professional indemnity insurance too. If things go wrong you do not want to be left out of pocket with no way of seeking recourse.

Meet the Owner
Hi, I'm Graham, owner and photographer at GDJ Photography. I am easy going and I focus on getting you the natural images you want from your day, while considering the needs of yourselves and your guests. I take your photography seriously, but your wedding is a day to celebrate, so I may just have a little dance in the evening, and will probably have a laugh with your guests during your reception. If you want a grumpy or bossy photographer then I am afraid I'm not the one for you, sorry :-/.
