I'm David Conway.

I have always been a keen photographer since my early years but fell into wedding photography around ten years ago when I was asked to shoot my wife's cousins wedding. Through word of mouth this lead onto a few more jobs and before I knew it I had set up my own little side business to run alongside my career as an Optician.

Fast forward eight years and it became apparent that one of my two jobs would have to give way a little as the photography work was becoming too much. Since photography was my real passion I decided to give it go as my full time job, and I haven't looked back since!

For a photographer who likes to capture moments of real emotion in people, there is no better setting than a wedding day. Everyone is dressed to impress, everyone is in a happy state of mind and emotion is always bubbling at the surface, be it happiness, nervousness, pride or joy!

My style is around 90% reportage. I feel one of my greatest strengths as a photographer is capturing the little moments throughout a day. I do also like to take the bride and groom away for a short time for some more intimate and contemporary shots, but do this in a very relaxed and unobtrusive way, keeping it fun. I don't spend a long time setting up posed images but rather try to capture you both in a more natural situation, letting your own personalities create the scene. I have always found previous couples have enjoyed this time as it can be a nice to have a moment to yourselves away from the guests.

Ideally on your wedding day you will want to be spending your time celebrating with family and friends. With this in mind, I alway suggest if you want formal family shots to keep this list concise so it doesn't take up your whole reception drinks period. One thing I always include in y packages is a pre wedding meet up at your venue for us to go through the timings of your day, and to have a plan regarding any ideas you may have and any suggestions I may be able to put forward. I find these meetings invaluable as firstly it gives me a good understanding of exactly how you would like the day to go, and secondly it gives us a plan on the day itself which really helps to make the day run smoothly and most importantly that means you will have more time enjoying the company of your wedding guests!

One thing I always advise whenever I'm talking to potential couples who are looking to book their wedding photographers is to meet up before hand. Your wedding photographer is someone who is going to be with you throughout the whole day. It is vital you feel comfortable and confident with them if you are to get wonderful images that capture your day so you can look back in years to come and remember all those magic moments.
