The Real Wedding of Stuart & Amy

Stuart & Amy's Wedding Story

How did the two of you meet?
“This might sound a little funny and maybe even amusing. But we actually first met when Stuart came to my house to record a statement (he’s in the police btw). But nothing really happened during that meeting, and a few years passed. I then matched with him on the infamous dating app, Tinder. But what’s funny is that I didn’t remember him at all as he looked SO DIFFERENT out of his police uniform. After talking for a bit, we realized that both of us have been going to the same gym.”
How did your partner propose?

“As we were in the middle of Lockdown, both of us had been pretty busy working extra hours because of the whole Pandemic (I’m in the NHS, and he’s in the Met Police). He proposed on Christmas Day last year, I had no idea as he never does anything obvious, but that’s exactly why he chooses to do it as a double bluff. I went to open my last present from him, and it was a photo book with photos of us since we met right up to a few weeks before Christmas, and when I got to the end, he was down on one knee. I don’t remember everything he said as I was in shock. It was really nice as we got his grandmother’s engagement ring flown over from Trinidad and Tobago and got a new ring made for me with the diamond from her, which is very special and sentimental!”
What was the most special part of your wedding day?

“Since the Pandemic has been a rough time for all of us, it was nice to see everyone we love under one roof, and that too through our wedding. We hadn’t seen many of them in the past two years, and it felt really beautiful to have our family and friends celebrate our union like that. The sun shined as bright as it could, and we weren’t cold at all.”

Any wisdom for future Sophie Grace Bridal Brides?
”When you tell people you’re getting married, the first thing they tell you is how fast it’s going to go by, and I didn’t believe any word of it. Sadly, mine passed by within a blink of an eye. I’d suggest all future brides enjoy AS MUCH as they can, and please stop worrying about greeting every single guest at the wedding. Spend your time enjoying the beautiful day that you’ve created with so much love and happiness as much as you can.”
