The Real Wedding of Rebecca & Alex

Rebecca & Alex's Wedding Story

Rebecca and Alex used the loggia of Hever Castle for their boho-styled wedding ceremony (and apparently went for pizzas at their local pub afterwards!). The English weather came up trumps for once and moved from atmospheric fog to summery sun in this gorgeous lakeside setting. Playing semi-outdoors was no problem for our acoustic string quartet. This wedding was all about personal touches rather than tradition: Rebecca and Alex were escorted up the aisle by their respective dogs, he to the Magnificent Seven theme and she to the Indiana Jones title music (Rebecca got us as a surprise wedding present for Alex and she loves film music among other things!). They left the ceremony to Edward Sharpe's Home, a song which several people have said is their favourite ever when they've heard us playing it. During the drinks reception immediately afterwards, the newlyweds had photos within earshot of their guests and us playing, and instructed us which of their requests they particularly wanted played when they were nearer by and would appreciate them.

Playing for the drinks reception in the Morden Hall grounds - you would never know you can get the Tube here!

The ceremony took place in this stunningly decorated marquee - we were positioned to the right of the stage as you look at this photo.
Daniel & Emma
Violin, viola and cello is a small group but still a flexible and rich-textured one. Very suitable for limited space or budgets.
