The Real Wedding of Rachel & Chris

Rachel & Chris's Wedding Story

We visited Mount Stuart for the first time in October 2016 and we were totally blown away by how unique the house is. We knew of Mount Stuart but never visited previously. We were given an in depth tour of the house and informed of the various options for holding our ceremony and reception as well as catering info and supplier contact details. After deciding Mount Stuart was the perfect place to tie the knot we then returned the following month for an additional visit to view the full guest accommodation and gardens.

The Team were always on hand to answer any questions or for any info we needed in the months leading up to the wedding.

The week before our big day we visited with our Minister and bridal party to rehearse the ceremony and finalise the running order. Ricky went through every last detail of the day and this really put our minds at ease so we could relax and enjoy the next, exciting few days. The Mount Stuart Team had everything well in hand, including contacting all suppliers in advance to schedule timings etc.

When we arrived on the morning of the wedding and seen our flower arrangements and tables set up, myself (bride) and the Mother of the Bride were visibly emotional! Everything was perfect. We had been in a bit of a rush to get our table names and place cards completed the evening before but Ricky and the Hickory Team took care of all of this for us. They made sure we had an ample supply of fizz to calm any wedding nerves. The groomsmen enjoyed a few games of pool in the billiards room while admiring the stunning view of the front lawn from the balcony.

Agnes – the Head Housekeeper looked after all of us impeccably and even steamed my wedding dress. She stayed with me until the moment I walked into the Chapel to ensure I was completely ready. The Piper was wonderful and got us all very emotional on the walk from the Horoscope room to the chapel.

The day went without fault. The weather was perfect, the food was incredible and all our guests were in awe of the house. Our first dance under the crystal stars of the marble hall was unforgettable.

Our Mount Stuart wedding truly was the best day of our lives and we are truly thankful that we got to celebrate in such a special place.
