The Real Wedding of Nicola & Richard

Nicola & Richard 's Wedding Story

We married in a beautiful Manor House, Silchester House, surrounded by our family and a few close friends. Our wedding was loosely based around our favourite Disney film, beauty and the beast so our colours were royal blue, canary yellow and red. It was simply the most perfect day we could have asked for. The day started with me (the bride) being at a local hotel with our daughter having spent the night there and some of Richard’s (the groom) family. We had a cooked breakfast and a leisurely couple of hours. Richard was at our house with our son where they’d spent the night. Unbeknown to Richard I had organised him a supercar to pick him up from the house to take him to the venue. At 11am I arrived at the venue and the magic began to happen. The place swung into action with guests turning up and staff emptying my car. My cake lady arrived and I saw the cake for the first time. I was blown away. It was stunning. My hair and make up artist arrived and set to work. I had guests coming and going in and out of my room. I could see everyone as they arrived out on the lawns. Guests were staying over and getting ready i their rooms hence the early arrival for some. We had exclusive use of the venue for 24 hours. At 1:30 my daughter, bridesmaid, and two little flower girls were ready and it was time for me to put my dress on. Then the big reveal to my dad, cried cried and was emotional! His little girl now a bride. We descended the staircase and nerves began to kick in. Then I heard take as old as time playing. It was time to meet my man. And he lost it when he saw me. Richard is not an emotional person but boy did he cry! Me, the emotional one, didn’t shed a tear the whole day! He was a mess for most of it! We became husband and wife and walked back up the aisle to Queen, you’re my best friend. Canapés and drinks followed whilst official photos were done. Then the wedding breakfast and speeches. Breaded Brie, Roast chicken dinner and vanilla creme brûlée. After dinner Richard and I took a few moments alone to have some photos with our photographer which gave us time together. Then first dance l, Brian Adams “all for love”. Old school and perfect for us. Followed my a boyzone song for me and my dad and the dj kicked the evening off with Walk the moon “Shut up and Dance”. The whole day was simply perfect! Nothing went wrong, the weather came through for us. Everything fell into place. All the planning and hard work paid off. I’d do it all again in a heartbeat. And best of all I became a wife and I got my husband. Our family became whole.
