The Real Wedding of Kellie & Rhys

Kellie & Rhys's Wedding Story

HAPPILY EVER LAUGHTER
This was certainly the mantra for Kellie & Rhys’ fun Summer wedding with us last August!
We caught up with Kellie to dive into the details of their fun-filled day…

Tell us about the proposal…

I’m not from Wales, and Three Cliffs Bay was the first beach Rhys took me to when I came to visit. A few (7!) years later he proposed at three cliffs bay, at the top of the sand dune by the castle in our favourite spot.

What was your colour scheme/ theme?

We went for black, with white and greenery for flowers. We wanted something simple as we chose to have ALL the lights in the venue which we loved!

Where is your dress from? How many did you try on before you knew it was the one?

My dress was from wed2b and I had the sleeves added by Cathy (a lovely dress maker based in Mumbles) who got my vision completely. I tried on a few of different styles but this ended up being the best way to get the dress I wanted within the budget I had in mind. I knew it was the one because my mum cried!

Most memorable moment of the day?

We both actually agreed on this! It was when we were announced into the wedding breakfast. Coming down the stairs to all our favourite people singing SO loud and swinging their napkins was such an amazing feeling. Really felt the love!

What song did you pick for your walk down the aisle?

An instrumental version of ‘the quiet things that no one ever knows’ by Brand New.

Why the King Arthur?

We visited a few venues and the welcome and feeling we got from the King Arthur really stood out for us. Annalise was amazing from the moment we met her and the whole team were just incredible. The Avalon room with the beams and lights was exactly the feeling we were looking for.

Tell us about some of your suppliers..

Photographer – Martin Ellard
Martin is so amazing at what he does. He has photographed the weddings of our closest friend’s over the years and he brings so much to the day. We love our photos, looking at them takes us back to the exact moments of the day.
Videographer – Karl Partridge
We were so chuffed with our video. Karl captured the day just how we remember it feeling.
Cake – Biggar Bakes
Always amazing!
Doughnuts – The Cwtch
These went down so well there were none left for us!!
Band – Rhys Morris Entertainment
Well, what a band! There were times it felt like a gig rather than a wedding! Absolutely loved them.
Photo Booth – Ultra Booth

What advice would you give to other couples leading up to their big day?

Have the day that you two want, you cannot please everyone!
Everything we were stressed about on the lead up felt so insignificant on the day, and we were just so overwhelmed with love from all our favourite people in one place, so take a minute where you can absorb it all
