Eileen & Mitch's Wedding Story
It took over 40 years from when we first met, to the day we said “I do” in the beautiful surroundings of Missenden Abbey. It wasn’t until summer of 82 we first dated, but sadly after a few months we split up, and didn’t even see each other again for 33 years when we met a party purely by chance. This ignited a second wonderful romance which led to our fabulous wedding day.
After viewing many venues, once we saw Missenden Abbey, met Natasha and her team, our choice was made.
Walking down the stairs on my Father’s arm, into the beautifully decorated Garden room filled to the rafters with family and friends, hearing the lovely sound of the Harpist playing, as I first glimpsed Mitch waiting for me, he whispered that I looked stunning.
The ceremony was so romantic and we left to applause and cheers as we entered the grounds for photos.
After beating the rain shower, it was speeches on the staircase in the Garden room before going in for the Wedding Breakfast.
Mitch chose a Best Man with a difference, his Daughter, Collette who did a wonderful job, an eloquent, amusing and emotional speech.
The Abbey excelled with the food and setting. Everyone raved about the salmon and we had so many wonderful comments about our choice of venue.
We slipped out before the evening guests arrived, to spend a few precious moments together to savour our special day.
The Band had rehearsed our first dance song,” The Wedding Song” by Emily Hackett, enchanting and perfect for us.
At the end of our unforgettable, fabulous day Mitch and I were the last to leave, walking hand in hand, reflecting on our most perfect day.
