Brogan & Ryan's Wedding Story
We got married at Pentre Mawr in May 2025, and we genuinely don’t know where to begin – it’s hard to put into words just how perfect our day was. It might sound cliché, but it truly felt like a fairytale – far beyond anything we had ever dreamed of.
We chose Pentre Mawr because we both love the outdoors and really wanted to have an outdoor ceremony. At the same time, we knew the British weather can be unpredictable, so it was important for us to have a beautiful indoor option as a back-up – which Pentre Mawr provides effortlessly. Lukcily we were able to get married outdoors and the views of and from the setting were stunning. Another huge draw was being able to have our entire wedding party staying on-site for the weekend, which made it all the more special.
We were working to a budget, and one of the things we loved most about Pentre Mawr was the flexibility it offered. You can spend as much or as little as you like, depending on your priorities. Being able to choose all of our own suppliers and do a lot of DIY meant we were able to have our dream wedding at a cost we could afford. We never imagined we’d be able to have exclusive use of a venue for the whole weekend – something we’d always dreamed of, as we love spending proper time with our family and friends – but Pentre Mawr made that dream a reality. Our bridesmaids, groomsmen, siblings, and parents all stayed on-site with us for the entire weekend.
We also stayed in one of the safari tents, which was such a unique and unforgettable experience – it added to the sense of adventure and perfectly set the tone for our upcoming safari honeymoon.
We went with many of the suppliers recommended by the venue, and it really felt like the right decision – every single one was fantastic.
Nina, the wedding coordinator at Pentre Mawr, was brilliant. She shared recommended suppliers, helped us navigate all the logistics you just don’t know about when you’ve never planned a wedding before – from local taxi numbers and getting accommodation info to guests, to working out the order of the day.
The Friday night meal was fantastic, and the breakfasts each morning were amazing – generous, delicious, and with plenty of options. The communal BBQ area and the Hayloft were also perfect – ideal gathering spots for everyone to spend time together. We made use of the fire pit and BBQ on the Sunday, which was such a lovely way to wind down. The area is right beside the horse paddocks, adding to the charm and the already breathtaking views.
As for Bre and Graham – when we say they can’t do enough for you, we truly mean it. They were always on hand when needed, quietly working away behind the scenes to make sure everything ran smoothly. There’s no problem they can’t solve!
They really went the extra mile to make the whole weekend feel special, looking after every guest and paying such close attention to all the little details. They are absolute experts at what they do – their professionalism, combined with their warmth and kindness, made us feel completely at home. Pentre Mawr truly felt like ours for the weekend.
We honestly cannot recommend the venue – or Bre and Graham – highly enough.
