Ben & Rebecca's Wedding Story
Why did you choose Mitton Hall?
We got married at Mitton Hall and also had our wedding reception here. We chose Mitton Hall because the building is simply stunning inside and out and has a good mix of traditional and modern décor. The grounds are looking over the Ribble Valley and are as pretty as a postcard! The room in which we got married and had our wedding breakfast is predominantly glass, which means the lighting is great, rain or shine (making fab photos)! The food and service was incredible (having been to visit several times before the day) and it just meant everything was seamless. I also loved how we could offer our guests a choice of 3 dishes for the meal, this is a really nice touch and many other venues don’t allow this.
Did you have a theme?
We just wanted everything to look clean and crisp, so we went for subtle blush pink tones, floating candles with lots of summer flowers. We went for classic black-tie dinner suits because Ben wanted them to be timeless. We chose this theme as it complemented the bright room and the flowers available at that time of year would fit in perfectly.
How was your wedding breakfast?
Ben and I are big foodies so it was really important to us that everyone loved their food so we gave them 3 choices for each course. The majority went for Smoked Duck Breast or Roasted Vine Tomato Soup for Starter, Fell Grazed Lamb or Sirloin of Beef for Main and then Passion-fruit Tart or Sticky Toffee Pudding for Dessert. It was all amazing! At the night do we had stuffed tea cakes, either posh fish fingers or pulled BBQ chicken with chips and dips followed by the ‘Ultimate Cheese Supper’ served at 1am for residents which I think went down a treat!
Did you have a wedding coordinator?
We had a wedding co-ordinator from Mitton Hall called Lucy, she was fab at making sure we had all of the necessary bits complete by each meeting, updating our function sheet to make sure we were on the same page with the suppliers booked, timings of the day etc. Ben and I were that couple who just couldn’t keep away from the venue, whether it was for lunch or a night away and the team always made an effort to make us feel welcome and ask how the plans were coming along. All of the dream makers were great and there to help with any questions.
