Yes, as you can imagine, well it was challenging on many levels!
Days before the UK’s second lockdown, we received notice that our small wedding was going to be cancelled. Given the circumstances, we understood but were left heartbroken.
However, our angels in heaven and earth would not let a pandemic get in the way of true love!
For after a day of the disappointing news, we received a call from the Royal Borough of Kensington & Chelsea informing us that they would be able to accommodate our wedding on the evening of the lockdown!
With just 48 hours to plan a wedding, a troop of angels on earth and in heaven conspired to help us make it happen.
*Cue frantic calls to sort out a wedding dress, cake, flowers, and photographer. *
Of course, we also needed a venue to host an intimate dinner for the wedding party!
That’s where the staff at The Capital Hotel swooped in and like a knight in shining armor, helped design one of the most memorable evenings of our life.
Not only did they graciously convert the hotel’s gorgeous bar and restaurant into an elegant and cozy space to host our pre-dinner drinks and main reception, but also prepared the most exquisite canapes and gorgeous three-course meal.
Their attention to detail was extraordinary, but the most special part was the graciousness and kindness of every single member of staff. Thank you for an exceptional evening. We shall forever have a special place in our hearts for you!
