Amy & Kyle's Wedding Story
I had the privilege of photographing the wedding of one my oldest friends, in our home town in Northern California. When Amy first asked me to be her photographer I was so excited! I was excited not only because Amy is an incredibly laid back and down to earth person (everyone’s dream client really) but because she’s also extremely creative and unique. I just knew her wedding was going to be stunning.
I hadn’t had the chance to meet Kyle before I flew over for the wedding, but luckily I was able to do a shoot with the two of them a couple days before. It gave me a chance to get to know them as a couple, they have a connection that makes every photographer jump for joy because you just can’t fake chemistry.
The wedding was held on the brides mom’s property, which sat right on the edge of the ever stunning redwood forest I grew so accustomed to as a kid. The day flowed smoothly, with a first look inside the forest, where the groom presented his bride a bouquet he crafted himself (with a little help from his sister-in-law), followed by a short but sweet ceremony in front of the fountain and surrounded by the redwoods.
Then it was on to the party, a stunning cake made by the brides sister, a hog roast from the groom and his fellow chefs (with plenty of veggies for the vegans in the room), a giant game of Jenga, speeches and dancing under the stars, this wedding was an absolute joy to be a part of.
