This month’s power user winner is Kirsty from Dalkeith!

Congratulations to Kirsty and Mel who have won £1,000 worth of wedding flowers courtesy of Fiona Halliburton!
"My name is Kirsty Calderhead and my future wifes name is Mel Doyle, we are planning to get married on the 22nd May 2021 with our reception party being held on the 2nd July 2021." "I work for Edinburgh College in student services Mel is a dental nurse working in Penicuik. We met through a mutual friend, I was actually living down the County Durham at the time, I am originally from Glasgow, we started messaging each other and a few weeks later Mel drove down to meet me. We now both live in Dalkeith. I was actually the one to propose, although unknown to us we had both planned to do it. For our first anniversary we went on a trip to Amsterdam and on the first night there we were walking back to our hotel after going to the ice bar, we walked down beside one of the beautiful canals, I turned around and dropped the knee. Mel was so surprised she nearly walked away haha, it was only a couple of weeks later at Christmas time I found a little envelope from a naughty elf with a ring inside that Mel confessed that she had also planned to propose all along." "With everything that's going on with Covid, planning has been a slow process but we know that there is a lot more going on in the world right now and we are just taking it one step at a time. We have been lucky that a lot of our planning has been done by email or phone, our original Wedding date was March 2021 but due to the current lockdown we moved it back to the next available date which happened to also be Mels grandads birthday who we recently lost to Covid. For us this lets us know that moving the date was the right thing to do and we know that he will be with us on the day." "We both managed to pick our dresses in June, we have both bought from Wed2be but we do not know what the other is wearing! I have also picked our bridesmaid dresses and kilts for the men." "It felt like a massive weight had been lifted off our chests when we found out that we had won the £1000 in flowers and a huge sigh of relief! We have been saving up every last penny for our wedding and honeymoon and this prize will help us massively, we also want to start fertility treatment in the near future and the money we have saved from buying the flowers will be put in the savings for that instead. I love UKbride, I use it alot for ideas and inspiration, pre covid we used it alot to look for local wedding fairs and just for general finding suppliers etc." "I still can't believe we have won £1000 in flowers, it is a very generous prize from the amazing and very talented Fiona Halliburton. We are very grateful for everything and can't wait to sit down and discuss our wedding and see our vision come to life."
