Choosing your own wedding dress is hard enough, let alone suiting up your groom. Let this article give you a helping hand with your groomswear, taking another weight off your bridal shoulders.

Individually hand tailored wedding suits used to be confined only to the exclusive celebrity wedding. Their initials would be stitched onto the shirt cuff, their waistcoat lining would match the bouquet, and the slim lapels of their jacket would mirror the slender cut of the bridal dress. What's more, the groom would have a stylist catering to their every wedding-day need- why not make that happen for you?

It's now possible for your groom to wear a perfectly-fitting, bespoke suit that he can wear long after the vows are made- all at an off the peg price. Even better, the groom can choose a suit that really fits his personality.

Let the groom pick a suit that fits his personality

Is he demure yet quietly confident? Perhaps opt for a sombre suiting material and bold lining. Does your groom like to stand head and shoulders above the rest? Why not choose an eye-catching colour scheme?

Senior style advisor David Minns recommends choosing a wedding suit to compliment your wedding and your groom. His favourite is a fantastic wedding staple- the timeless 3-piece grey suit. David says, "The colour works well with every complexion and is a great colour to contrast a shirt and tie with. Simply add a dusky salmon lining in the exact colour of the bridal bouquet." He adds, "with this style choice, once the photographs have been taken and the ceremony's complete the groom can ditch his jacket and still look dapper."

It's even possible to take inspiration from over the pond and marry in a time- honoured dinner jacket.

Senior style advisor Johnny Harrison adds "A double breasted four-buttoned waistcoat with a 2-buttoned single breasted jacket would really stand out while remaining an absolute classic. The use of dinner jacket styling on regular suiting material can be very distinctive. Perhaps use the shawl collar in black satin. The golden rule, however, is to opt for a peaked collar and a pocket square to set the suit off the perfection!"

At A Suit That Fits, you can order your wedding suit entirely online or visit our stylists at our three London branches or 13 regional Tailor Stops. Prices start at £150 for a two-piece suit.
