Confetti - Frequently Asked Questions

What’s the best wedding confetti?

Most venues only allow biodegradable confetti, this means it’s not harmful to the environment and it will naturally degrade within a few days, so noone needs to clean up afterward. We grow biodegradable petal confetti on our Shropshire based flower farm, not only is all our confetti natural, eco-friendly and biodegradable, but it’s sustainable and blooming beautiful! Our confetti is made of real flower petals that have been carefully dried ready for throwing over the newlyweds. We grow a variety of different coloured petal confetti so you can match your confetti to your wedding colours too. Why not create your own bespoke mix with our Pick & Mix service?

How much confetti do I need?

Shropshire Petals recommend enough confetti for at least half your guests, that way you’re sure to get beautiful and memorable photos! That said you can never have too much confetti! If you have 100 guests we’d recommend at least 5 litres (50-60 handfuls) up to 10 litres (100-120 handfuls). Try our online calculator to find the right amount for your wedding day.

When should I order my confetti?

As soon as you know what petals you’d like you can order right away, tell us your wedding date during the ordering process and if your wedding is less than 3 months away we’ll send everything out immediately. Top Confetti Tips for Wedding Planning

With a fantastic range of packaging options to choose from, your confetti is guaranteed to be a showstopper on your wedding day.  Here are 6 confetti ideas to make your confetti moment one to remember:

  1. Provide enough gorgeous petal confetti for at least half of your guests to throw, this will ensure you get that all-important memorable photo. A litre of confetti is enough for 10-12 handfuls, so if you’ve got 100 guests we’d recommend 5 litres of confetti, that’s enough for 50-60 guests to throw! Of course if you want all your guests to throw, the more the merrier!
  2. There is no right or wrong when it comes to where and when to have your confetti moment. Some couples choose to walk down the aisle as guests throw, this gives their photographer multiple opportunities to get plenty of confetti photos. Other newlyweds prefer to be surrounded by their guests for one big throw, and it’s also becoming increasingly popular to save the confetti moment until the first dance. Whichever way you celebrate your confetti moment, make sure to have a chat with your photographer and venue before the big day. They’ll be able to give their expert knowledge of where and when it is best to get the confetti moment of your dreams.
  3. Your wedding day is unique and so is your confetti moment. Match your confetti, cones or pops to your wedding scheme with a wide range of colours, designs and even an option to personalise your packaging.
  4. Scatter natural petal confetti around your venue and reception for decoration.  Sprinkle delicate petals onto your tables for a bold colour pop or create a petal path aisle to walk down before you say “I do.
  5. Surprise your guests with the unexpected and make a bang with a Confetti Cannon filled with your choice of biodegradable petal confetti. Your groomsmen will be fighting over who gets to launch the cannons and everyone can enjoy being surrounded by beautiful fluttering petals.
  6. Have some fun with your guests and confetti; who said confetti was just for the newlyweds? Order some additional confetti for your photo booth and get your photographer to capture fun pictures of your guests playing with confetti.
