Black Tie Bartenders are a complete mobile bar hire service, using only experienced and trained bartenders. Every aspect of your wedding day bar can be taken care of and we offer as much, or as little, as you like. We simply arrive and set up everything you need for a high quality, friendly bar service.
With so many things to organise for your wedding, you might not have decided how you want to run the bar. So we’ve put together this sheet to help you decide what sort of bar hire service you can have on your wedding day.
Bar hire – how does it work?
From our experience, the best place to start is to decide how you want the bar to run. We can then tailor the package to suit your needs. Generally, there are 3 options:
Fully paying bar – we supply the bar, we supply the drinks, and your guests pay for them.
Free bar – all the drinks are free for your guests. We take a deposit from you and then invoice you after the event for what has been used.
Subsidised bar – we serve your guests free drinks up to a pre-agreed limit. When this is reached, your guests pay for their own drinks at the bar.
Once you’ve figured out which option you want, we can tailor a package and provide you with a quotation.
What you need to get started
For a typical wedding of 50-350 people, we can provide you with:
A choice of one of our bar set-ups, each fully fitted with draught beer pumps:
A converted vintage caravan, country wood bar, or a classic grey marquee bar.
Around 2 – 10 trained bartenders
All types of glassware hire and all the ice you’ll need.
A range of drink options including draught beer, spirits, wine and cocktails
Temporary event notice license & public liability insurance.

To give you an idea of prices and what to expect, we’ve put together some starter packages based on how you might want the bar to run:
The Bar Prices
Here are some examples of the prices your guests will be paying: (if you are running a pre-paid bar or bar tab then prices are reduced)

The “We’ve spent enough, let the guests pay!” package
A fully paying bar, where the guests pay for their own drinks (using cash or card). Your costs:
Bar Hire FREE
License £21
The “We’ll treat you” package
All the drinks are free for the guests and you pick up the tab. Prices will be discounted if this option is chosen, and we invoice you after the event.
The “We’ll spoil you… for a bit” package
A subsidised bar. When the pre-paid drinks run out, the guests pay for their own. (Drinks on the subsidised bar are discounted until the pre-paid drinks run out).

The “Let’s meet in the middle” package
You supply the alcohol and we serve it for you. Your costs:
Bar, Equipment & Licence £650
Staff hire £15 per hour
When you’re ready to go ahead, we require a deposit of £50 to confirm the booking.
Special Pre-Order Packages
We understand wedding costs can easily add up, so we offer a discount on drinks (discount already applied), when you pre-order one of the following packages:
Welcome drinks options:
Sparkling wine £2.00 per person
Prosecco £3.00
Bottle of beer/ glass of prosecco £3.00
Table drink options:
Half a bottle of wine £4.50
Toast Drink options:
Sparkling wine £2.00
Prosecco £3.00
If Black Tie Bartenders are to supply welcome drinks, table drinks and toast drinks a further discount will be added.

Meet the Owner
My name is Owain and I am the Director of Black Tie Bartenders. We are a family run business based in Cardiff. Black Tie Bartenders was started back in 2017 by my wife and I who both have over 10 years experience in the Hospitality industry. Black Tie Bartenders started off as a small business, doing mostly small birthday parties and local food events.
