The latter part of 2021 saw the establishment of Hounds & Heritage Weddings, which emerged after the decision to separate from a nine-year-old pet care enterprise, with the primary objective of focusing exclusively on weddings.

Hounds & Heritage is currently independently owned and operated by Jemma Cox, who has 12 years of experience in pet care and 6 years of experience in wedding events. Jemma has been caring for dogs professionally since she was 16 years old, and has prior experience in the hospitality industry as a wedding and events coordinator. She began her professional journey as a dog walker, which subsequently grew to include several branches throughout the United Kingdom.
Over the years she has provided valuable guidance and design services to other individuals looking to establish their own businesses, while simultaneously maintaining her own successful enterprise.

THE IMPORTANCE OF A CHAPERONE

When you have owned a dog that becomes part of your family, no matter how long or short that time may have been.., finding care for them and/or ensuring they are a part of the day IS essential.
With more and more dog-friendly venues appearing, it is becoming easier to include your dog into the celebrations. However, there is still the added pressure of wondering who will look after them. Some people believe that including dogs in weddings means dirty paw prints all over dresses or dogs running riot all over the venue, when in reality, it is much more controlled.
As Wedding Chaperones, our primary responsibility is to prioritise the health and well-being of your canine companion, while also providing assistance with any requested wedding duties on the day of the occasion.
The period preceding a wedding can be a highly stressful experience for both the Bride and Groom, and the same can be said for your dogs. It is therefore essential that the individuals who will be handling your dog have the ability to read canine body language and distinguish between excitement and anxiety.
Chaperoning essentially means being your dog's right-hand man or woman. It is up to us as professionals and decent human beings to read their emotions, the environment, and the situation and act accordingly. We'll always be upfront with you if your day's plans/ideas don't align with your dog's best interests, and we'll help you come up with a better plan to move forward with. Limiting the number of people your dog is passed to and from can work wonders for them, and the right exercise and mental stimulation can help with photographs and general behaviour on the day. ABOUT

It has been frequently noted that the services offered by myself and my team slightly differ from those provided by other chaperones. We like to get to know your dogs (as well as yourself), through a series of meetings (all of which are included in the individual packages offered), through dog walks, home visits, and trial days/nights.
We are renowned for our flexibility and direct work with reactive dogs, rescue dogs, and nervous dogs. The understanding that each dog is unique and has its own story/personality is reflected in the services we provide. Hence, in the event that your dogs are not suitable for a Home Boarding environment surrounded by children or other dogs, we are pleased to offer Client Home Stays or Pet Sitting at the Venue until Midnight, provided that we have the necessary availability.
