I've picked my photographer. Do people recommend having an engagement of pre-wedding shoot?

We didn't bother, just seemed like an unnecessary extra cost, if it comes free, then why not but if you have to pay extra I'd say don't bother

We got it for free when booking and it was great. It gave us an idea of what to expect on the day with our photos and photographer and we were able to use photos for order of service etc. I was also really lucky as I was 5 months pregnant at the time so I have some lovely photos of me and the bump and hubby xx

Ours offered a free one and we used that to get an idea of their skills and how comfortable we were with them before we booked them. If you know you want them then it's probably more of a nice to have.

Ours was part of our photography package. I'm glad it was and that we had it as it helped us to feel more comfortable and know what it would be like on the day

I'm not thinking of having any pre-engagement shoot with our photographer - more costs that we do not have.

I would just to get positions and stuff right and check quality. My partner and I are vertically challenged he's 6ft 4 and I'm 4ft 11 so we are doing this to get positions and stuff right, whether we should both sit, he should and I stand etc.

we did, then put it in a frame with a big border, where guests could sign it

Our photographer offers one free included in the package. I think its a great idea if it costs no extra x

Yes definitely this allows you to to get positions and angles right for you. You see their style and if you like how they take pictures of you. I am glad I did it as we corrected angles that I didn't like and stuff.

Yes I would, me and my husband did an it gave us an idea how our wedding pictures would be. Most of all you will feel more relaxed having pictures done on your wedding day as you have gotten to know your photographer as well xx

Ours was included, but it was so worth it. Got to know the photographer better, and actually the way my fiance would hold me normally and felt comfortable, looked restricted in photos, so we know now not to stand like that on the day otherwise the photos will look a bit weird.

yes - you get to work with your photographer & build a rapport. You get to see what they are like during a shoot & what to expect on the day. We also met at the venue with them so they had an idea as to where to take the best pictures. It helped make us so much more comfortable with them

Ours was included in the package we chose but I'd definitely recommend it as it's a perfect opportunity to really get to know the photographer and how they work and they'll be able to get to know what you're comfortable with and what shoots would be ideal for you as a couple on the big day. Xxx

100%! It'll give you time to get used to how they photograph and gives you both time to feel natural with the photographer. Many couples often find it they don't meet the photographer before hand, they can look a little nervous in their photos!
