How long before the ceremony are people having their flowers delivered? My ceremony is at 2:30 and my cake is coming at 11:30. We are having flowers on our cake which our cake maker said she will put on for us, but this means the flowers will need to arrive first. Our venue advised us to have the flowers delivered as late as possible though, so I'm worried that having them come before 11:30 will mean they won't be as fresh. Or should the cake be coming later?

Maybe ask if the cake can be delivered around the same time as your flowers x

I would say get the cake delivered a little later. I'm getting married at 2 and my florist suggested he delivers them at 12:30 (gives times for photos etc) we also have flowers going on our cake however, ours are just being placed on the top so my sister is doing it for me. X

I'm getting married at 13:30 and flowers are arriving 12:00 - 12:15 in time for a few photos beforehand. I would ask if the cake can be delivered sligthly later unless the person bringing the cake can hang around for a little while until the flowers arrive? xxx

The flowers will be perfect delivered early don't worry. They are majorly fresh and are sprayed beforehand. It takes ages before they wilt and I would ask the venue if they can make sure the cake stands in a cool place once the flowers are put on it. Any worries talk to your florist but they will be fine. We had button holes delivered at 10am for our 3pm wedding and they were perfect

My florist put our flowers on the top of our cake for us? Does the cake maker have to do it?

Why not see if a friend or relative can pop down to the florist and ask to pick up the cake flowers only, so you have it for when the cake arrives, and just have the rest of the flowers delivered as requested? Maybe phone the florist first to let them know what you would like to do xx

As a florist I would be setting up in the morning at the venue/church the flowers will remain fresh! It will be fine if you are having complex table decorations some of this might have to be assembled at the venue. I would also never put the flowers on the cake myself as I would not want to change the cake supplier vision. Enjoy your day the flowers will be beautiful x

We had DIY arrangements so lots of ours were delivered the night before. In water they kept perfectly and they were fresh as :)

Ours were kept in the cellar to keep them cool and to stop them wilting (bouquets and button holes) and the centre pieces were set up by lunch time. We got married at 2pm but our florist/room decorator was there around 9

I'm having mine delivered the day before as I am doing them myself. I will put them somewhere cool (like at the top of cooler box with iced blocks in) and they should be fine. Never had a problem so long as the flowers are not too fully opened when initially putting them together.

My wedding was at 12.00 and they arrived at 9.15. They were perfect for the photos at 2pm and were still as good as new in the evening. I took them for drying the following day and with the exception of the tip of the shower (that had been bashed about with my dress in the day) they were still perfect! Don't worry over a couple of hours! X
