how did yous all decide on colour schemes? I'm finding myself constantly changing :|
We are having a Xmas wedding and the venue has a real xmas tree which they decorate in red and gold so we went with that. X
I picked a colour scheme to start with, one of the first things I decided on... a few weeks later when we were further into planning ( set a date etc) the scheme changed to fit with the season we are marrying in (winter)
I actually asked my fiancé to choose. I had a few ideas but I let him decide. He chose my favour colour just cos he thought it would look nice (not because it was my favourite) we are having a mixture of different purples and white.
The colour of my dress gave me my colour scheme, I knew from the beginning I didn't want white (or a shade of white like ivory or cream) so as I found a lilac dress purple was the colour we went for..
we had pastel rainbow kept seeing it everywhere and thought thats different and i love pastel colours x
I had blue yellow and grey
We have a loose colour scheme for the bridal party. But not for the venue. I wanted colour and lots of it x
I choose blue fiancé wanted different colours so went with his choice 🙂
I chose the colour I liked for my bridesmaids, that would suit them etc and went from there
i did too so I went for a country garden flowers theme then pretty much any colour will go if you keep it all varied, and went pastels for bridesmaids and groomsmen ties etc
I was like this but me and my partner have decided with coral and turquoise
H2b chose ours x
We kinda just decided on colours we love, so went with those. We're having a bright blue with a baby pink xx
Was my fav colour
We are having a winter wedding in November. We went with royal blue silver and ivory..xx
I knew I wanted pastels, but it was actually when we picked the bridesmaids dresses that the colour scheme came about. The dress the girls picked came in loads of colours, so I let each if them choose a pastel shade. This was the final result.....
I wanted navy blue at 1st but my fiancé said let's go bright as it was an august wedding, he chose bm dresses, hot pink! They were gorgeous!
My h2b asked me to marry him in Liverpool , as his mum is dead and she is from Liverpool . He wanted her to be part of it . He supports Liverpool football club so it seemed like the only we could have was Liverpool red . My h2b was so pleased when I suggested it to him xx
We just went for our favourite colours and they happened to match in perfectly with our theme
I chose turquoise and royal blue. Turquoise was my mums favour colour (she is no longer with us) and royal blue is my favourite colour and knew OH wouldn't have a problem with royal blue.
Hubby picked our s . purple is is favourite colour and as I was sorting everthing else I let him have it ( its also a colour I love if he'd picked orange he would have been over ruled ! )
We started with the colours of my fiancé's family kilt, then seasonal flowers for when we're getting married (summertime) helped us pick lighter accent colours!
My favourite colour is purple I changed my mind loads on which shade though finally settled on cadburys purple
I was struggling with styles of bridesmaid dresses for 2 very different ladies. I came across some we all really liked on a social media wedding sale page. They were exactly what I was looking for and the right size for my 2 bridesmaids. So mint it was! It did fit in well with our gorgeous boutique hotel venue so turned it into a bit if a vintage theme with pinks x
We decided based on my rings, aquamarine in engagement ring and rose gold/peach in my wedding ring ☺️ xxx
Our daughter who is 8 chose the colours. She wanted a blush pink dress but wanted to stand out so the adult bridesmaids are inlight grey she is in blush pink and then the flower girl who is 3 is in ivory with a grey sash. Our roses are the pink to match my daughter then my fiancé has blush pink cravat and hankie to tie it all together. My dress is ivory and so are the men's waist coats and the other mens cravats and hankies.
Find what flowers you really really want and work from there x
I got my wedding dress a month after we got engaged and that decided my colour scheme
I decided my colours then fell in love with my wedding dress that would not go with our chosen colour! luckily hadnt bought anything so change h theme of it my style of dress :)
Having worked in bridal wear for a while this is quite common, I would say book venue and try dresses first then colours should be easy :)
Pastel colours!
I went for a range of colours as I couldn't decide and then picked the best one that looked nice with the suits xxxx
Pintrest x
Grey and silver because me H2B is colour blind. And navy blue to match my sapphire engagement ring.
I couldnt so didnt. Bridesmaids are different colours so decided my theme is mismatch xx
I went lavender picking x
I always knew I wanted a black dress, but not a Gothic Wedding. It just made sense to put it with bright colours. The problem was how many and which colours to have. We settled on Red, Yellow, Orange, Green. Blue and Purple. We've been really lucky and everything has worked out perfectly enough even with so many colours. xXx
I'm loving those pastels, however I am allowing my daughter (my MoH) to choose her dress and a lot will depend on that. Overall though we are having a garden reception with lots of flowers so it will be a bit multicoloured I suppose.
If you have an idea of flowers that you like that might give you some ideas
I looked at the chair sashes as we liked a certain colour but when we saw that colour on a chair sash we hated it! We ended up with mauve/pale violet which looked amazing
I also had a mixture of colours
I went on the colour of the bridesmaids dresses..then having that as the theme. .as I couldn't decide on the colours.
My wedding dress was ivory n i wanted either blue or yellow dresses yellow cos we got married in October, but i settled for blue in the end x
I'm having these as my bridesmaids dresses and my colours are coral, pink and peach ombre with silver and rose gold accents
Just went with my fave colour which is pink, didn't do hot pink as think it looks tacky for a wedding so went with baby pink
I basically copied from someone else, loved the colours, grey and baby pink so that's what it is, it's your day so do as you like xx
I chose my hubster to be's favourite colour - burgundy. It's not ALL about me after all!
We are having red white and blue. Ive always wanted red & blue is my fav colour. Hubbys football team is chelsea & his nfl team is chiefs(red) so it fitted perfectly.. plus hes a huge fan of superman..
We're not really having a colour scheme as such as it's just too hard to decide lol x
Even before we set a date I knew I had my heart set on purple. I didn't particularly care what shade I just knew I wanted purple as it's always been my favourite colour and my OH didn't particularly mind. It was only when we picked a date in August that I decided that we were going with lavender. I think it depends on time of year as well as what colours you both like
I wanted mocha colours originally but couldn't find hardly anything in that colour so changed to dusky pinks with a hint of gold running thru the theme, it all turned out fantastic and exactly what I wanted. Happily married for 3 weeks now :) x
We knew straight away we wanted black and red x
im getting married next year.we have 4young children together and really want the older3 (7, 6, and 5years) to Be involved so the girls chose our colour theme and our little boy (with daddy's help) chose the suits.my daughters being young want a rainbow wedding.we have toned it down by useing white.
We picked a colour that meant something to us, so since the day we meet we've always played the yellow car game on any trip out, so we picked yellow and even had little yellow toy cars on our tables lol
I love pink so it was easy and then the sage green just looked lovely x
Fave football teams of hubby and me
I picked a colour than I went dress shopping and the colour I picked was completely wrong so I wait to you go dress shopping and bridesmaids shopping to find what suit better xx
I wanted to suit my theme with reds and blues (comic theme) but have decided to go with my heart with light pink; navy, and grey as I love those colours and will Photoshop my comic pictures to suit colours xxx
We dont have one! 🤣
If i HAD to say its whatever colours we want. Lol.
Decorations are bright, pastels, shiny, glitterly, floral. Anything. Our venue is a vintage barn so anything goes.
I think your colours should reflect who you guys are... people tell me im wacky and have my own sense of style... so mix amd matched coloursband decorations are us. X
Future husband is in the Royal Navy. You've guessed it, Navy suits, navy bridesmaids dresses, with white flowers, navy & white centre pieces etc. You must have a favourite colour, luckily that's mine!?
