Me and my fiancè are getting married in October 2018, and I told my family but my Mum and Dad disagree with it and we both have our heart set on next year, did anyone have a similar situation? Did you go ahead with the wedding and did your parents end up coming anyway?

mine is not my parents but my sister, we got engaged very close to one another it just happened. She is getting married June next year and me and my partner were looking for October next year, but my sister did not agree due to it been so close, we have now decided to move to december next year. I am sure your parents will come they would not miss your big day. Maybe sit down with them and explain.

Have your wedding when you want, it's not up to them. My friends MIL and FIL didn't disagree with their date but disagreed with their venue choice. My friend didn't give in and the parents said they would attend the wedding but wouldn't contribute to financially or in any other way. They came and enjoyed the day in the end
