Hi I recently got engaged in July in Spain, we are planning on getting married in 2019. We was going to get married in Spain but apparently it's not legal, so we are planning to get married in Gibraltar now, has anyone been to a wedding or got married in Gibraltar? If so what is it like? Is there many places there, I know it's early to think about but I just need some idea really.
If you wanted to get married in spain, you could do a registry office wedding here couple witness then have a blessing out in Spain?
Never to early to plan.. I got engaged in July and everyone says I'm waiting to long to get married in 2019 .. think that's because there impatient.. maybe go for a mini holiday to Gibraltar to have a look if you like the feel of it first ☺
Never been to a wedding there but have stayed at the Sunborn Hotel (it's a yacht permanently there) with a top floor infinity pool - might be a potential place! Such nice rooms!
Theres a page on fb called sweet Gibraltar weddings .. give them a like and msg them .. amazing with hrlp & advice.. i was looking at booking but to partners nana not being able to travel we had to re think .. and as its part of uk its all legally recognised and no translations needed etc xx
Just to clear this up...It's only legal to get married in Spain (as a non-national) if you're both Catholics. It's possible to have a blessing, but the paperwork has to be done at home.Steve Friend - Brilliant Travel
It's not too early, for an abroad wedding you should be booking 24-20 months before x
They do weddings at the caleta. Hotel in gib - lovely hotel x
I am planning my own wedding in Gibraltar for September next year, I wouldn't suggest wedding packages, you need to see and visit places yourself and plan from there, I have made lots of contacts if you need help! Good luck!
Definitely sweet Gibraltar weddings

We are getting married abroad (hopefully July 2019) and have been advised it can't be booked until around March/April time next year when the holidays are released due to flights etc x
My cousin got married in Gibraltar last year and then had the reception in Spain at night. All guests stayed in the same apartment complex and we got a bus the morning of the wedding to Gibraltar and had the ceremony and an afternoon tea type thing there before getting the bus back to the reception venue which was near to where we were staying. It was the Caleta Hotel they were married at, would definitely recommend it it's gorgeous the terrace bit where they had their ceremony was stunning.
We are getting married in Palma Majorca in 11 days! We can legally marryin church as we are both catholic. Arranging the paperwork has been an absolute nightmare, our own priest was extremely slow in getting hings started. If you are catholic and having a catholic wedding, I would advise getting a Wedding planner x
Just call the registry office and ask them x
I am going to a wedding in Granada tomorrow but they got married legally first at home x
Congratulations:) I'm getting married in September on the Sunborn Yacht, which is a lovely hotel & wedding venue. I have a very good wedding planner who deals with weddings in Gibraltar & Spain, her name is Jeanette & her company is Med Weddings.
