Hi everyone! I'm just wondering when vendors such as florists and cake suppliers ask for payments? Do they ask for the full amount up front or just before the wedding? I'm trying to organise my payments and would like to know when these payments will be expected before I start booking them. Thanks for any replies in advance ????
Hi, I'm not sure about florist yet as I haven't booked that. But my cake maker asked for half the cost as deposit and the rest the week before the wedding x
It depends on the individual business - my cake maker asked for a £40 deposit and the rest 8 weeks before whereas my florist has asked for £100 deposit and the remaining a week before the wedding. Just be sure to ask before you book.
My cake I payed half up front n half wen it was finished, flowered I payed 10% to secure date, the total balance was a few weeks before wedding (I payed regular amounts inbetween)
Cake makers usually require a deposit on booking and full balance a month-2weeks before the wedding
Most things I've booked take a deposit to secure the date then final balance a month before
all our suppliers have asked for a deposit and the remaining balance to be paid 8 weeks before the wedding x
All of my vendors took a deposit with the balance due 4 weeks before the wedding x
My cake was from M&S so we paid in full when we ordered it. I paid my florist a deposit in booking and paid the final balance by 14 days before
Most of mine wanted a deposit to secure our booking (ranging from 10% to 30% of the final price) and then they wanted full payment 3-4 weeks before the wedding day X
Florist I paid £50 deposit at time of booking them to secure it and then the balance a month before the wedding for them to order the flowers in in time
A deposit to secure the date and then the rest before the wedding ..
the best people to ask are the vendors themselves. Most of ours were a week or two before the wedding but different companies/people will have different terms.
Ours asked for deposits, then final balance 4-6 weeks before the wedding
Our cake maker took a 30% deposit from us on booking then then rest was payable a month before our wedding. Not sure on florist as I paid them upfront then I knew it was done but Im sure they were the same, a certain % deposit then full balance to be paid a few weeks before. They all have their own ways of doing things so check before booking and theyll be able to advise you.
My cake was £50 deposit and balance 2 weeks before. My flowers are artificial and I had to pay her £50 deposit and the balance on collection. Each one is different so speak to them and they will tell you what their terms are before you book x
My florist payment is 3 months before
Ask the people you are using as they are all diffent
I would ask you individual supplier. Mine wanted 50% on booking and the remainder 1 month before the wedding x
Deposit up front to hold date £50 then £700 two weeks before x
Both want payment 4 weeks before
Everyone is different, I'd just ask before you book x
They ask for a deposit and the rest so many weeks before the wedding
Deposits are normally required. Whoever you choose for your benefit and the vendor have contracts signed
Almost all my suppliers wanted 20% deposit & final payment 1 month before. Cake was 50% on booking & remaineder 2 weeks before & florist can be as late as 2 weeks before. Venue wanted staged payments with final payment 1 month before wedding.
We require a £50 deposit to secure the date and balance 4 weeks before - however if brides prefer they can pay it off month by month we have had some request that and will accommodate how they want to do it
My florist had full payment a week before she said this was her policy so I think it depends on the florist. I paid for my cake a month in advance hope this helps.
