What should father of the groom wear to the wedding? We have got matching grey suits and pink ties etc for groom and best man. FOG has suggested he wears a grey suit. Not sure what the done thing is - should we have hired him a matching suit, or should he wear his own grey suit? Or, should he have a different colour altogether? Also I have no parents attending, only my aunt and her husband who I don't know too well so I don't feel comfortable telling him what to wear on the day. But if FOG is coordinated and he isn't, it may look weird (both will have buttonholes). We were intending to just let them wear whatever colour they wanted, whether it matched groom and best man or not but are now worrying about it as that doesn't seem to be the norm.
Hi the Groom's Father usually wears the same as the groom :)
We have hired both dads the same suit but you can tell him to wear whatever if that's what you would prefer
My hubby to be, my son and his sons will be all matching. The dads and the best man are wearing their own suits as that is what they wanted to do. As long as everyone is happy they will all look fine, I'm sure x
We put all of the dads/stepdad in the same suits as the ushers as it looked really nice and made them feel special.
They don't wear same unless they are part of the groomsmen my step dad and my father in law are wearing different but same colours
I was like this for our wedding I wanted the 2 dads to be wearing the same suit as the groom and best man but both dads didn't really want to wear top hat and tails so they brought their own grey suit and we just provided them with the same cravat, hankie & button hole in our wedding colour. I was worried that there would be 3 different grey suits at the top table and in the photos thought it would stand out but it didn't, it looked great and everyone was happy and comfortable. Do what you want to do, I had neither Dad nor did my Hubby but had they been here they would have had the same suits as hubby and best man (my brother had the same as them as he gave me away)
