Did anyone manage all day in heels and if not what did you swap into? I wear heels at work which I'm fine with but then I'm not on my feet all day. I've got a feeling on my wedding day my feet will be in pain by the evening! I don't want converse to swap into as I'm really not a trainer wearer, just wondered if people had any other ideas? I'm a pain with my feet as have really high instep so I struggle to get comfy shoes. Any recommendations?

Yep all day in heels and I don't often wear them. My shoes were from Next and were so comfy.

I went most of the day in heels. They were off in the evening and I didn't change into anything. Lol. But everyone who knows me knows I do that anyway...! You could just get some pretty dolly shoes. That's what I was going to get. X

All day in heels and I don't wear them often. I bought ones with really comfy cushion insoles and broke them up for weeks before the wedding. Every time my husband was out the house I'd put them on and walk around it them

I am so bad with heels. I never last on nights out. I lasted the majority of our wedding day. They started to ache just before dinner during photos and stopped once I sat down to eat. Then they ached a little after food. But again I sat down for a bit between food and the evening party. I only kept them on for the first dance/father daughter dance and the first song that played after them. Then the shoes came off and I went bare foot!

I swapped into lacy converse just before the first dance! Had rainbow shoes though (google them!) which came highly recommended and I could have worn them all day! X

I had high heels and bought a pair of flat ballet style pumps to put on during the reception. I was so relieved as by the time I had an opportunity to put them on I already had blisters on my feet. (My shoes felt comfortable and I think the general excitement of the day meant I didn't notice how bad they were hurting until I removed them.) the ballet pumps were so comfy and I've worn them again so not a complete waste of money.

I struggle in heels because of an old foot injury so heels make my feet swell and throb my plan is to get a very small heel and just take them off once they start to hurt, I don't mind walking about in bare feet, I'm even tempted to take my slippers

Im ordering a really nice pair of slippers for next to change into once were at our wedding breakfast and most posed pictures are taken. I'm also buying some one then cheap white spa slippers for my wedding party to put on if their feet hurt. They the cheaper than flip flop and I might even jazz them up.

I want to wear heels but me and my fella are the same height and I don't want to be towering over him in the photos! So it's flats for me I think xxx

I spent the whole day in embellished converse as did my bridesmaids! Our dresses were all floor length or longer and comfort meant more to me for us all that pretty shoes and it became a talking point during the dance :)

I'm in sandals all day, as heels aren't permitted at my venue 😊 depending on time of year you could do the same? Xx

I'm getting married in August so will get a nice pair of jewelled sandals for the evening, something like this http://www.asos.com/asos/asos-fairytale-wide-fit-leather-embellished-flat-sandals/prd/7112877?affid=14173&channelref=product search&mk=abc&currencyid=1&ppcadref=761030383|39786840843|aud-305235869460:pla-284582669258&_cclid=v3_c62b4dc5-3b8f-5d35-8bf2-1f110ecb755a&gclid=Cj0KCQjwiLDMBRDFARIsACNmiX8K6H4I1JuBKhOEXIfh2Rk38uQXcLMEkBcCRq1xEesnUA_dSEBpv4IaAtlzEALw_wcB

I'm wearing flats as I struggle in heels at the best of times, my friend who recently got married said wear comfortable shoes as your feet will get very painful. What about sparkly flats or even flip flops for the evening, just bear in mind the length of your dress x

UKbride Administrator

Nope, definitely not. And i had small heels, not quite as small as kitten heels but close enough. By the start of the dancing id changed into the flip flops i wore with my morning outfit (white shorts and a hoody with bride on it in blue). Xxx

I wore white beaded hard soled flip flops all day as wanted to enjoy my day and not worry about painful feet. If you're swapping from heels to flats at some point you just need to think how it will affect the length of your dress x

Hi, buy some freeze spray from boots etc (about £4-6), spray on outside all over feet dousing well; you'll get easily 4 hrs of numb feet. It contains ethanol and is what I use as a nurse at events where ppl do sports particularly with old injuries to ease their discomfort. It can be reapplied. I'm using it tomorrow for my wedding! I also have high instep and a bunion so know how you feel. Good Luck.
