U need to phone up ur local registry office and book an appointment and they will tell u what documents u need 2 take. Each area is different. Some u have to have ur birth certificate along with proof of address passport and a bill. Your proof of address has to have your FULL name printed. Hope this helps =) x

Make an appointment at local registry office and give notice of intent to wed. They will tell you all the documents you need to take x

Google the phone number of the registry office you want to get married in and ring them. You have to make an appointment for you both to go in (they will tell you what paperwork you need to take). We could either pay on that day or up to 2 months before the wedding - I don't know if that's the same for everyone. Allow at least an hour for that appointment as they see you separately and ask you both questions about each other - it was quite comical cuz my fiance's rubbish - he couldn't remember my birthday or my middle name! Charming!
We then got a really nice booklet in the post which we had to fill in and send back which told them about all the music we want, the readings we'd like and all the vows etc we can choose from. They were all very helpful on the phone and answered all our questions. One thing I would say is book it quick if you have set your heart on a specific day, cuz they do it on a first come first served basis. Good luck x

This is the information I received from the registry office after we booked the registrar. You'll need to call the registrar in the area you'll be getting married (if you're not sure the venue will help you, they're super helpful or it could be in their wedding brochure) and leave £100 deposit, then they'll send you the information in an email about customising your ceremony and further payment details :) I hope this helps seeing it all written out by them. Good luck! X obviously change the dates in bold to your dates ;) x

Our registry office said to wait a few months after the 12 month point, just in case the wedding was delayed for any reason. It only lasts 12 months so if you had to delay for any reason, you'd have to give notice again and therefore pay again. We did ours at the 9 month before w-day point so we had 3 months leeway
