Okay! so I know my big day is long off yet! and even then we may be fetching it forward all depending on availability and how life pans out next year when we move but I have hit a snag in my wedding plans! I have been looking at ideas for bridesmaids dresses and my hubby-to-be's nan passed away earlier this year just a week after we got engaged whilst on holiday, anyway. We always thought she was going to be the one lady that would be there on our big day and since she can't be there in person, we wanted to find a way to incorporate her into our big day, her favourite colour was purple, as is mine and I would like to use that as some sort of theme however I can not for the life in me find any bridesmaids dresses that are a nice shade of purple, any one any suggestions on where I may find some or even any suggestions on how else we could find a way to make it a day we know she would have loved as it would mean the world to Josh and his mum as he was as his nan would say ' the apple of her eye' and we just want to make her proud. thanks in advance and sorry for the essay!!

A lot of places will send you colour swatches if you are looking online. mix bridal do really lovely dresses, and will send you swatches before you order.

What about having purple flowers or incorporating some purple ribbon onto favours?

Depends how much you want to spend. Truebride bridesmaids dresses come in a variety of colours including several shades of purple, but they are not cheap!
My bridesmaids were in purple.

Are you thinking dark purple, cadbury purple or lilac. Werr having lilac, my daughter had Cadbury purple. Both are lovely (purple is my favourite colour too) Are your bridesmaids children or adults. I found ebay and wish.com have a lot of lovely bridesmaid dresses. Ive also bought shamballa bracelets for all mine to wear with lilac/ivory beads and their initials. You could have a shamballa bracelet with a heart that says Nan. Obviously these are just my ideas. Its your wedding x

Just to have a little extra added you could get cufflinks made with a photo of his nan so she can walk down the isle with him. I'm having a pic of my grandparents attached to my bouquet.

My father passed dies when I was 8. We will be releasing white doves. I know it's silly but to me they will fly up to heaven to tell my dad that I'm now married.

I did also think about releasing a Chinese lantern with a letter attached but then these can cause fires. My venue did also offer a table to have his picture on and a candle I could light.

He liked to go clay pigeon shooting when he was younger so thought the doves would be nicest 🕊🕊

You could have purple shoes and carry a purple hanky to bring the colour into the wedding without having it everywhere maybe also add lavender into your bouquet as an accent rather than actual flowers

How about before the ceremony begins, have whoever is conducting the ceremony say something nice from you both in regards to your Nan then you could light a candle in her honour, also take it with you to the reception X

If went for silver dresses, you could have purple flowers in bouquets?
Also if you plan on getting him some gifts, why not get him a wallet and place a photo of her in it?
Tie pin with her photo?
Cufflinks again with her photo?
Some people have done a table of missing loved ones with a photo and a candle?
A photo of her on your bouquet in a wee small charm style frame?

I'm getting married in a little over 6 weeks. I lost both my parents last year and I'm obviously gutted they won't be there on my big day. I have bought a locket with a photo of each of them and I'll be wearing it around my neck so they will both be close to me all day. I also have my Mom's engagement ring as my 'something old' which will be tied behind my bouquet. Perhaps you could do something like that? XxXx
