How long in advance should I send my invites if I am not sending save the date cards?

I'm doing 10-12 months especially if it's over holiday season I think x

I am doing mine 12 months just to make sure people get the time off work as I have family down south and up north xx

I think if you send them too early you run the risk of people RSVPing yes because it's so far away and they think they will make time then they either forget or make other plans etc and let you down closer to the time once you've already paid your caterers

Most people already knew the date of our wedding so I sent our invites out 12 weeks before x

I verbally told people to save the date about 7 months before and then sent invites out 5 months before - was still a bit too far in advance as some people had forgotten they said they were coming until I gave them a gentle reminder a few weeks before! X
