Hi everyone, just wondering what you'd all do for a reception starting at 6:30pm. What time would you open the buffet and do the speeches and the first dance? We aren't having a sit down meal, the ceremony is at 3:30 and we're asking evening guests to arrive at the reception for 6:30.
Hi we are having our the same time for evening reception we are aiming for 7.30-8pm for buffet. We are getting married at 12.30pm and are having a hot buffet in the afternoon, afternoon tea at 6.30pm. as a lot of our evening guests will be coming after work :)
Same as Lucy we are having a sit down meal mainly because we're saying our vowes earlier than we would be liked and we have opted for a photo booth to entertain our guests after the sit down and before the evening guests/buffet since we are trying to come in under budget and it seems to be reasonably priced and we'll have some fun memories bit we've also got a chocolate fountain too x
We get married at 2. So we are having a buffet for the ceromony guests...and then a pig roast on the evening...as we didnt want a sit down meal
Have your food then your speeches about an hour or so after. Followed by first dance.Thats what i did at mine . It was a buffett too
Our evening guests are arriving at 6.30, cutting the cake at 7.15, first dance at 7.30 and then buffet opens at 8 xxx
We got married at 3:30. Had our evening guests arrive 6:30 and the buffet available from 7/7:30. We had our speeches whilst everyone was eating. Worked really well for us.
I'm doing the same. Ceremony at 4 then reception at 6.30. Food I was aiming for 7.30.. the speeches while people eat then cut the cake afterwards.
Someone did mention having the first dance after the buffet as it get people dancing
Just go with the flow otherwise you'll be clock watching and won't enjoy the evening
We are looking at getting married at 230 (hour ceremony catholic church, hour photos or so)... we are doing a cream tea for the speeches then hog roast in the evening which im hoping for 8pm... then cheese boards at 1030.... my lot love a kebab at the end if the night so got to give them something 😁
If your having kids at the ceremony i would recommend having food for them for when you get to the reception. I went to a wedding and the ceremony was at 3, didnt open buffet until 7. All the kids were starving so all the parents left before the buffet opened and didnt return xx
We get married at 2.00 then a 3 course sit down meal and then at 7.30 we have a BBQ.
Our evening reception is 7.30pm, first danve 8pm and buffet opens 8.30pm x
I'm not having a time for anything I'll do it when I want to do it
