Hi everyone, just wondering what you'd all do for a reception starting at 6:30pm. What time would you open the buffet and do the speeches and the first dance? We aren't having a sit down meal, the ceremony is at 3:30 and we're asking evening guests to arrive at the reception for 6:30.

Hi we are having our the same time for evening reception we are aiming for 7.30-8pm for buffet. We are getting married at 12.30pm and are having a hot buffet in the afternoon, afternoon tea at 6.30pm. as a lot of our evening guests will be coming after work :)

Same as Lucy we are having a sit down meal mainly because we're saying our vowes earlier than we would be liked and we have opted for a photo booth to entertain our guests after the sit down and before the evening guests/buffet since we are trying to come in under budget and it seems to be reasonably priced and we'll have some fun memories bit we've also got a chocolate fountain too x

We got married at 3:30. Had our evening guests arrive 6:30 and the buffet available from 7/7:30. We had our speeches whilst everyone was eating. Worked really well for us.

Just go with the flow otherwise you'll be clock watching and won't enjoy the evening

If your having kids at the ceremony i would recommend having food for them for when you get to the reception. I went to a wedding and the ceremony was at 3, didnt open buffet until 7. All the kids were starving so all the parents left before the buffet opened and didnt return xx
