Hi all. I have one bridesmaid and she will be 16 at the time of the wedding. I have no idea where to start looking for a dress for her. I looked at a bridal shop but the prices are crazy! I have read so many horror stories about the online stores and now I don't know what to do. I want a youthful dress as she's young and our colour scheme is purple. Any suggestions?

There are some really good sites online, just got to keep browsing, I would maybe find a few and then ask her preference. i used e-bay. i had a 15 year old, a 20 year old and a 47 year old for my brides maids. they all wore the same black dress but in sizes 8, 12 and 24. they came from china and arrived within a couple of days of ordering them. i used paypal so if there had been problems i could get my money back. i had to parachute the skirts up with some vintage broaches, (we're quite short in my family!!) and i had to take in the size 8 to a size 6 as my daughter was at uni and too poor to eat well. honestly i can't complain and all my girls looked great. it's not always bad. if you can't sew your self there will be a local dress maker who could alter for you if you need it. good luck and i hope you have a wonderful day.

Our colour scheme is cadburys purple. One word, AMAZON. 2 bridesmaid dresses £20.79, the are bridal shop quality, fair british sizing and the only fault we could nit pick is that they were creased but ay £10 a dress I can't quibble with steaming them. They were bought for a tweenager and a mother of 3 so theyre not too grown up but not to young either. We love them!!! Search for belle long prom dress. Another tip is to search for a "prom dress" or "formal gown", as soon the word "bride" gets mentioned theres an unspoken rule that companies seem to apply and add to the price.

Hey! My colour was purple too!!! Firstly, where do you live and secondly, how long do you have? I'm in London so my advice may not be helpful. Finding a purple dress was quite difficult. I didn't want my maids to spend more than £100 in the end the dresses were £120. We went to Font Hill. Basically a road of shops dedicated to formal wear. Found something there are months of looking as for some reason Cadbury purple, what I wanted, was not a popular colour anywhere. I would say go there, or try online shopping through PayPal only. If you pay through PayPal your money is protected despite the company for dodgy or not true to advertised images. Hope that helps. Xxx all the best. Mine's in 2 weeks!!!!

I am the same one of my bridesmaids is my niece who is 16, one is my cousin who is 30 and then my daughter is 11 so I was struggling but I got mine from wed2b and they are stunning. Because the style I chose for my niece and cousin was a bit old for my daughter it was perfect as you can mix and match styles but have identical colour so it’s brilliant. They are online to look at but they don’t look that great on the website but they are stunning on. We had seen the same dress in a bridal boutique for £270 and from wed2b they were £85 x
