Just been chatting with my fiancé this evening and he has brought up an interesting point that I really don't know the answer to.. anyone have any idea how it works if you go on honeymoon pretty much straight after the wedding? As your name will have changed but obviously won't have changed on the passport if it is soon after the wedding day that you go away...?

You can get a letter from your Clergy or Registrar to confirm the wedding to send to the Passport Office and they will change it for you ready to go., but it will not be valid until your wedding day. Hope that helps.

You just need to book your honeymoon in your maiden name, the one that is on your passport. No issues then.

Changing the name on your passport costs the same as renewing. Book your travel in the name on your passport and wait until it expires to change the name

I used my maiden name for honeymoon as my passport still had five years left on it and it's a whole new passport you have to pay for.

I got married last week & fly out next week. Holiday is booking in my maiden name - so long as name on passport and ticket match, you're fine x

If you go onto the passport website. There is a form you need to download about changing your surname. You then can get your vicar/registry office to sign the former.

My first honeymoon was booked in my maiden name so there was no need to rush changing passports x

You can travel on your maiden name passport for up to a year after your wedding as long as you are booked in maiden name. Or as stated above you can have it changed before your wedding by applying for it but it only becomes valid the day you get married x
