Hi when are you getting married don't start looking for your dress 1 year before good luck :)

I would try on dresses first, I had ideas on what I wanted and they looked awful on me, wedding dresses are completely different to a normal dress (in my experience!) x

If it's not going to break the bank and doesn't matter if you choose not to use it, go for it! Otherwise I'd make sure you have a good look around and consider timeframes first.

Can you try that dress on? if not if it doesn't cost the earth then buy it. Once you getting it if it is not right for send it back or sell it to someone else. Go into bridal shops and have a look around

Dresses that I thought I wanted just looked fucking horrible! If you can try it on and like it then that's fine but I wouldn't get it too soon as I got mine 7 months ago (still not married yet) and keep changing my mind and thinking maybe I've got the wrong one x

Dress shopping is part of the bridal experience. I wouldn't jump on one online without shopping around first. Also I found one I liked online went to a shop to try it on. Thought it was going to be 'the one' I tried it on and hated it as it didn't suit my body type. Try different styles before buying and enjoy the shopping experience.

I bought mine online without ever having tried one on before. I knew the second I spotted the photo it was the one I wanted. I haven't regretted it. The way I decided to see it was that if it ended up not being what I wanted I could always sell it on.

I bought one offline and loved it but got dragged into a bridal shop and I found 'the one' and this one made my nan cry x so I had to buy it, I'd suggest trying it on or going to a bridal shop first as you may change your mind x

I would recommend at least going into a shop to try on lots of dresses just to get a good idea of what suits you first. As someone else mentioned, some of the dresses I though I would like I ended up hating on me. Once you have a style in mind you could then look for something similar on the selling sites xxx

If it's a bargain get it, you can always sell it on if you don't wear it but a bargain dress you like is probably a pretty rare find

You NEED to try it on... Everything I said I didn't want ended up being exactly what I wanted after seeing it on!! Trying on is a must where wedding dresses are concerned :-) X

I would definitely try it on first the dress I ended up with was very different to the dress I wanted plus I had to try on dresses that where two sizes bigger than Normal for some reason designers feel the need to make them smaller

Don't rush enjoy the journey, try on loads of different styles first. If you buy the dress and like it I wouldn't continue to shop. You will only end up confusing yourself. If you still want to shop it's not the dress for you anyway. Personally I would use the money to book the photographer or band that you really love. I had 2 years and the band I really wanted was already booked up.

When are you getting married, is there a return policy if the dress is not quite what you are expecting?

I would definitely recommend going to a shop first to try on a few different styles to see what actually suits your body shape!
I always wanted a bo-ho style sheath dress with lots of beading.....
Tried on what I thought was going to be "the one" and HATED it! Did not suit my shape at all, and made me look several stone heavier than I actually am!

Tried on a few others & found that I pretty much hated everything I always thought I wanted in a dress.
Now I'm looking at vintage lace & mermaid styles! Couldn't get anymore different...

My point being, without meaning to sound condescending, until you've tried a few dresses on, you don't actually know what you like!!

if you see the one you love, buy it!! if you pay through paypal you can get your money back if there's a problem.

Definitely try on some dresses before you buy it as you dont want to buy it and find the style doesnt suit you as much as another style x

If you love it, go for it and then if you find something else later, you can sell it on. I wouldn't overthink it. If you're considering buying it, then someone else will feel the same if you decide that it's not right for you.

I got one from a second hand shop and loved it because it didn't cost a fortune and they have seamstresses that can personalise it to what I would like it to look like. I would try to decide based on whether or not you would be gutted if you decided not to go for it and then couldn't find something as nice. I did get it from a shop and had tried a few different styles though so it might be worth going to have a look as well to be doubly sure x
