You don't have to have a maid of honour and you have as many bridesmaids as you want and if you don't want any don't have any xx

I think you can do whatever you like but my maid of honour is indesposable, I would still be panicking about where I was going to get married, where I was going to buy my dress, and what invites I would have. I wouldn't have thought of any of the little things she has thought of, I'm pretty sure I'd be walking barefoot in just my dress walking down an undressed aisle with no one there hahahaha but I suppose it depends on what kind of person you are and the type of person you would have as your maid of honour. If you're organised and know what you want maybe you don't need one.

You each need a witness, it's a legal requirement which has evolved into the maid of honour and best man, but you don't need them to do anything other than sign the marriage licence, that's all mine is doing

You need a bride & groom - everyone else is optional. (Apart from a witness - that is).

In short, you & yr h2b, don't worry about who has done what and how. Do whatever both of you want and enjoy.
