£400 seems to be the average

Theres such massive variations in prices from photographer to photographer and even then they often have a number of price options depending on what you want in terms of time taking photos, prints, extra photographers etc even where you are in the country so best idea is to research a few where you are, get an idea of what you want from your photos and what parts of the day you want photographing then email a few photographers to build an idea of an average price. Some photographer's want a few hundred, others want a thousand plus and there's so many price points inbetween that its much easier to gauge whats about right for your needs by getting a number of quotes. My tip would be to have an idea of what you want and ask if they can offer that to you and how much they would charge for it - our photographer was so helpful and tailored a package for us between 2 of her existing price points as one had too little time included and the other had far too much. Even if they dont do something like that, they'll be able to tell you what they offer that matches your needs the closest.

Good luck!

Depending where you are I got my photographer for £500 and his work is amazing and i get a book with it too with so many photographs in it and a disc with every photograph he took so I can print some off if I wish too. I did have to do alot of searching to find him but I'm so glad I did as most people was charging £1000 for a basic package and that is a disc with edited shots on and no album. I always want value for money so keep looking until you find one that you like and it's better if you search online.

The average is around £1000. The general rule is to spend 10-15% of your wedding budget on your photographer.

You've not told us where you live, so no, not really. Ask around, contact the photographers and ask

Ours is about £1500. You get what you pay for, I think around £1000 for a whole day is about average. We didn't want to scrimp on the photographer because the photos are all you've got once the day is over. A lot of photographers websites don't disclose prices because it'll vary depending on how far they need to travel etc, so I'd recommend finding a few you like and contacting them for quotes. We did that, and we didn't end up choosing the cheapest either, I just think its one of the most important things you'll book for your wedding

I have gone with a beautiful and very talented photography student.
I don't want all the posing pictures I just want natural snaps of the day.
Check your local photography college, they can help you out. Xx

I'd fully recommend my photographer Martin Davies (http://www.martindavies.co.uk) he has a great range of prices starting from £600 and he was brilliant for our day. We also got a great range of photos and he made sure all the details were covered. Couldn't praise him enough.

He's on Facebook too if you wanted to check him out

We're paying £1000 for ours but that includes a full day of photographs from getting ready until late evening. He provides some lovely additional touches such as a slideshow of photos taken though the day to be projected onto a screen during our first dance and a large framed photo printed on the day for guests to sign xx

If anyone is looking for a photographer on a budget in the South East, I am a photographer and would cover from bridal prep to first dance for £425

Louise Durrant
Louise Durrant 25 Jul 2017

Ours is 2500 pounds. 2 photographers, social media and UsB options, drones and 14 hrs on the day. You pay what you get. Our photos will be edited like celebrity magazine with all images edited. Don't pay for a photographer that is similar quality to an I phone or Instagram filter as that's wastes money and you can do it for free :)
