We've booked our wedding date and we want to change the date slightly, do you think we will be allowed to? It's not for another two years and we want to move it to two months before the original booking.. I had to ask on here as I'm itching to call the wedding planners but they're not in office till tomorrow and the wait is killing me ????????

You can always ask. The sooner you ask the more likely you are to get a favourable response.

I moved my date from june to december without any issue. If the venue has the date available it shouldnt be a problem x

We moved ours forward a year. If they have the date available, don't see why it should be a problem x

With it being so far in advance I don't think it would be a problem. You might have to pay to change the date though like an admin fee? We have booked at Gretna Green with their planners and were told we can change the date up to 6months before but we would be charged to do it xx

I cant see it being a problem with it being so far it advance its unlikely that they will be booked. Fingers crossed rjey have the new date that you want free xxx

Just phone. You may have to find a new venue or stick with your date if they're already booked up though,so just be prepared for that

We changed our wedding time (within an hour of booking) and they had said luckily because they hadn't done the paperwork yet they wouldn't charge us.
So there might be a small fee, I think they said £50! Might depend on area though!

There may be a charge to change your date or time there is at our venue so your best off asking to see if youl loose anything 1st

We brought our wedding forward 8 months with only 3 months notice and our venue was super supportive

I will be surprised if it's a problem so far in advance x

I changed mine by a whole year. No charge or anything!

With our venue we can change the date once then we loose our deposit if we change it againx

It'll depend on how much you've booked, and whether those dates are available. There could be price changes if it's a more popular month too.

I am sure you will be fine! :) good luck with the date change!

I guess it depends how much is booked and if all suppliers can move,,

If you've booked the registrar, they charge you, however the venue probably won't unless they have an admin fee xx

We booked ours for next October originally and have just moved it to this November with no penalties or anything! Ask! The worst they can say is no xx

My wedding is in 2019, when we first enquired we asked about June, but when it came to booking we had changed it to September. We were told if it was free we could have it, which is was! I'm sure if you ask, as long as no-one else has booked it then I'm sure it will be fine xx

It says in the terms & conditions of our venue that a change of date once booked is classed as a cancellation & will be charged accordingly e.g., loss of deposit etc. And that's with our Wedding being 2 years away aswell, so just be prepared. You can ask😊

Should be fine, it's so far in advance x

We changed our original date by 18 months (later) and the venue said as long as they could resell the original date it would be fine. They emailed within a couple of days to say they'd sold the date and happily transferred the deposit to our new date. Good luck x

Everywhere is different. Our venue allows us up to 2 date changes free of charge

UKbride Administrator

Yeah course. We changed our date, then had to cancel it anyway

I've shifted mine three times (due to various guest issues)

No bother at all. They're very understanding.

Check in your paperwork we have to pay 500 pound to change our date if we wanted to

Jayne Timmins

I should imagine it would not be a problem as long as they have availability, but just ask them, good luck x

I would imagine so providing they have availability but beware that if you change the date with a registrar there is a fee - I think £30 xx
