How did you pick your wedding date? We went our first date 3 days after we met. We got engaged 10 years to the date after we met (6th may) so we are getting married 3 years and 3 days later so it's falls 13 years to the day of our first date x
Hi we chose the 18th August as the number 18 is a big date on my side for birthdays :)
We asked the farmer when h2b could stop harvesting for a weekend!!! We get married in 5 days and then its back to work!!
We knew we wanted October but other than that just picked a date!
We are getting married 12th August this year and also this year on the 11th August is our 10th anniversary so wanted to get married close as possible to that date
My h2b proposed to me on a date that was personal to us both. We are getting married exactly 2yrs to the day from when we got engaged
We started dating on the 20th March 2009 and then got engaged 4 years later on that date. A year after that our first son was born on 20th March 2014. We didn't want to get married on our son's birthday so we've chosen the 9th which is when we first started talking
We chose my husband's mum and dad anniversary. My husband's mum passed away before we got engaged and we asked his dads permission if we could get married on that date he was honoured xx
We are getting married 02/02/2020 which is a palindrome (same forwards and backwards) as I have a thing for kitschy dates 😁
Our date was motivated by when we could afford it and when my fiancé could take time off! It isn't a special date yet, but it'll be significant after of course!
My birthday :) 24/11/18 so my 28th. It falls on a Saturday and we wanted to get married in November. Also, I wanted to start a new tradition as my mum got married on her birthday (when she was 19!) so it's always been lovely celebrating her birthday and their anniversary over the same weekend. Plus what a greater birthday gift as a husband? (and easy date for him to remember ).
We met on 5th November 2011, got engaged 5th November 2014 got married 4th November 2016 as the 5th was double the price
We are marrying 6th May 2018 and chose it because it's the day our baby should be been born in 2017, hopefully next year will be more joyful x
We started dating 6th aug 2012. Engaged 6th aug 2015. Date was booked 6th aug 2016. My aunt who was going to be my moh was away with her inlaws so we changed the date to 26th aug 2016 as we then already had our honeymoon booked for 27th aug2016. So it was nice to go home to bed and get up and leave first thing the next morning. Disnt have to see anyone only my brother who was pet sitting while we were gone
I proposed on the 29th of February. Jokingly H2B asked what do you do if your wedding anniversary is the 29th of feb. My reply was well if the next one is a Saturday, we will find out. Lone-be-hold it is. So date set 29/2/20
We are getting married 13/04/18 it will be our 11year anniversary of when we got together :)
I've done the day after we got engaged!
The 1st of August was the date I have my h2b a big in the street whilst visiting a friend. We've been together 4 years now. Our anniversary is the 20th august but the 1st was the first time he gave me butterflies xx
I no longer have Dad and we chose the date closest to Mum and Dads wedding anniversary.
We got married on my parents wedding anniversary. It's also the same date my nan and grandad got married and great nan and grandad. We were the fourth generation. And next year my brother gets married on the same date which will be my mum and dads 30th and our 3rd ️
We didn't really have a preference, we found a venue and wedding package that was affordable and the package was a winter one so it was available November to March, we managed to bag the Easter weekend at the end of March next year which we thought would be good as most people have the Friday and Monday off work anyway :) it wasn't a special date or month as we got together and got engaged in December, it was just convenient :)
We're getting married 28th October 2018...on 29th October 2018 we will wake up as husband and wife...on the 19th anniversary of when we first met x
Our American wedding ( legal one) was 10yrs to the day of first meeting, then our uk one was jubilee weekend and day after hubs birthday
We knew we wanted autumn and then realised how much we both love fireworks (and I was obsessed with the sparkler photo) that bonfire weekend just made sense.
We got married 2 years and 5 days from the day we started going together. Our wedding was 27th August last year, coming up to our 3rd anniversary and 1st wedding anniversary soon
We officially got together on 25th june, and got married 26th June 8 years later. Wanted it on the same date but it fell on a Thursday
10 years to the day we became a couple ️
My very much missed nans bday 23rd june ♡
We got together 5th Dec 2006, we got engaged 5th Dec 2013 & got married 5th Dec 2016 x it made the venue a bit cheaper too! Hahaha xxxxx
We picked 18th August next year because it will be our 15th anniversary when we first got together
we picked october because less family birthdays in that month and cheaper as out of wedding season and then had only saturday left that month that wasn't already booked
We got together 28th April 2010 and married 29th April 2017 - The day after our 7 year anniversary :)
We originally thought about 28th April next year as falls on a Saturday but couldn't wait that extra year 😊😇 xx
We chose the closest Saturday to the date we met, met on 6th May and will be getting married almost 4 years later on 4th May c
He proposed on 28th April 17 and getting married on 27th April 18 as 28th was a Saturday more expensive and booked up
10th March. It's my departed dad's birthday and we wanted something to honour him and also worked out nice as our anniversary is the 7th xx
I knew I wanted April as I love spring but had to work out when Easter was as can't get married during lent. That's how we picked x
I didnt care what date (we will have been together 12 almost 13 years by the time we are married) so sent my dad to choose he choose 26/05/2018 :)))) he booked and paid deposit came home with paper work lol xx
We met on the 12th August so I wanted a date as close to that as possible so our wedding date is 10th August 2019. :)
What ever date the venue had!
We chose March because my mam & dad, Nan & Bampy and Sister & brother in law all got married in March and out of all my family they've all been together the longest so I see March as a successful month x
We wanted an autumn wedding on a Saturday so got some quotes for various dates in sept/Oct. Saved £2k on venue by picking the first sat in October...easy peasy!
The day we get married will be our 5 year anniversary, couldn't have planned it more perfect ️🤵
My fiancé was a teacher so we went for the venue's first available Saturday in the Summer Holidays. He's no longer a teacher but I think August is a nice time to get married anyway.
We chose the date of our first date which happens to fall on a Friday this year - next Friday in fact! It will be our 6 year anniversary x
Our date is a day after our 'dating ' anniversary.. we got engaged on the 26th, anniversary on the 27th and then married on the 28th of July :) xx
It was available, and discounted, so we picked it!
We've chosen the date we first met which was the 3rd March 2015 just be 4 years will have been together the day we get married on 3rd March 2019
We picked a date in May as it's a special month for us. We began dating 31st 2014, our son was born 15th 2015 and we're getting married 26th 2018 :)
We did pick the 2nd June 2018 but our venue was already booked. They only had 4 months left that year that we could booked to get the special price. So we decided on 29th September 2018 as this is my mum and dads wedding anniversary, they would have been married 45 years but they are both no longer with us. I thought this would be nice way to bring my parents to our wedding. I'm also going to have a framed picture of them by our wedding cake of them on their wedding day.
We wanted a winter wedding. My H2B isn't able to get much time off in December so we decided to go with November. The only date available in November at the venue we loved was 24th so that's what we've went for fingers crossed for a dry day
We were both born on the 20th of a month, and met, got together and got engaged on a 20th. For the wedding we wanted an autumn date next year and the 20th October is conveniently a Saturday, and an anniversary of the day we met. Here's hoping the kids are born on 20ths too!
we picked ours to be on our anniversary as my partner proposed to me 3 years after we got together and now were getting married on that exact date.
Our venue only does weddings on Sundays therefore we wanted a bank holiday weekend so people were off the next day - we just booked the next bank holiday weekend they had free.
We picked the end of the 1st week in September so that we can go on holiday every year for our anniversary & not pay school holiday prices for flights
We first was going to have NYE but worked out that it cost way too much. Then we decided to have a summer wedding but wanted it when the kids was going to be on holiday so that parents didn't have to worry about them going to school on the Monday and being tired after the Friday. So we decided on the 3/8, but then we thought some people may have to work on the Sunday (depending on their job) so we then decided to have it on August bank holiday x
We were engaged for 3 years. Took our daughter and parents in law lavender picking one day and decided there an then to get married 10 weeks later 🤤 unfortunately the lavender fields was fully booked for years in advance but we were still hooked on the idea so lavender became our colour theme and we were married exactly 10 weeks later x
We wanted October and it was the only sat available at our chosen venue for 2017. I wouldn't over think it :)
We got married on our 13th anniversary thats how i picked mine
We picked A date and it was booked up so went with first available
Ahhh we got together on the 6th of May, engaged 10 years later on the 6th of May.. but unfortunately the 6th of May 2018 is a Sunday... so we have gone for the 4th (yep national starwars day... "May the Fourth be with you!!") We will just make an anniversary weekend out of it every year
Originally I wanted an October wedding, but the only days our venue has free my mum is on her honeymoon! So we decided December because we love winter and most people are already off work at that time of year. Plus it gives us a bit extra time to plan!
We didnt pick any special date, I knew I wanted a summer wedding and on a Saturday, it ended up that the only available date was 29 June at the venue we wanted. So the date was sort of chosen for us. We had a couple dates we couldn't have because of close family birthdays but other than that we were open to whenever was available....nothing sentimental to do with it :) x
We got married on the date of us getting together.
Our wedding is 2 years to the date we got engaged ️ Gives us a reason to celebrate it each year
We just picked whatever gave us a reasonable amount of time to sort stuff out, it was originally meant to be June. No date significance
We went in knowing we wanted to get married in June as usually nice weather then and the only dates available was the 2nd or 3rd so we got married 3rd June this year wasn't a special date but it sure is now we had a perfect sunny day no rain and everything went to plan. We had our first date in March didn't want to get married in March xx Enjoy your special day when it arrives xx
We went with the date that was already our anniversary
We got together 13/06/10 And getting married 13/06/18 so h2b will remember the date
Ours is on our 9th anniversary. Will be the 1st July 2018. So 1.7.18. And means our first wedding anniversary will also mark 10 years together x x
My parents wedding anniversary ☺️❤️
We met in August. I wanted to have my wedding on a Saturday after that date but it's holiday season. Don't want people not coming because of holiday so going to try for the nearest date in September to the date we met
We wanted Friday 13th. It was the luckiest day for us , still is.
7th July 2016 was when Joe proposed. If we had the money, we would have had it on 7.7.17 but settled for 2019 instead...
We picked the beginning of a month, no school hols around it and a Saturday date that would be easy for my husband to remember for anniversary times. 1st October 2016
We wanted a Saturday wedding in spring, our lucky number is 5 so booked Saturday 05/05/2018 which is also a bank holiday weekend worked out perfectly for us ️
Ours fits into a timeline. We got together on the 20th June, engaged on the 10th September (following year) then married on the 30th July in a few years (month fits better with my work schedule). It's personal preference at the end of it really, some people just choose a random date and some make it fit into a pattern/timeline. Xx
Whatever date the Army will let my h2b have the time off for haha!
I checked which week I had off work on holiday and booked for then but I did only book in July and got married October so wasn't a lot of choice lol x
my h2b choose ours 129th june 2018 coz its my birthday & he wont forget it..
We wanted August and ours was the only Saturday available x
We met on 14th December 2016 and we chose the date nearest to my husbands dads birthday who couldn’t be with us . We got married on August 27th 2016 and release two white doves for lost loved ones such a magical day . I’m also a Florist so if anyone needs help or would like to look at my work feel free and if quote Uk bride I would love to offer 10% off to anyone that would like to book or if can help any of you along with your planning just message me .
Me and my h2b met 5 years ago only got together a year and a half ago got engaged in the day we got together 29th of April getting married 3 days before our 3 year anniversary x
Started dating at 17, 16th May 2010, he proposed on a hot air balloon on the 20th August 2017 (no reason that date), getting married 10 years to the day of dating, 16th May 2020! :)
We had legal wedding in USA on our 10yr anniversary and then our 2nd ceremony in UK the day after hubbys birthday - although that was bit of chance rather than planning, we had decided on the Sunday of queens jubilee weekend as it meant people didn’t have to take days off to travel
We choose 13/5/22 as 13 is our lucky number may is the month we met n my nana n grandad got married in may n the year cos it lands on Friday xx
We've choose the exact date and month we first met which luckily falls on a Saturday as I've always wanted a Saturday wedding.
