I'm looking for a reception venue in Manchester City Centre. I'm wanting to keep costs down so don't want a massive room hire or food per head fee! 100 guests and a Halloween theme. Any suggestions? Thanks guys!

Not sure what kind of venue your after or even if there's one in Manchester city centre but the holiday Inn used to do great deals all in for wedding receptions, used to be £1000 for 75 guests I think it was for sit down meal and buffet. Worth ringing. Also if they have a Mercure hotel they do great packages x

Not sure about the costs but you could try The Place Apart hotel. I've used it for meetings in the past but it was a while ago so not sure what it's like now. Their website states that they have 4 suites available to suit numbers and mentions about the option of you choosing your own caterers if needed. Could be worth a look. Personally I think it would be best for you to contact a few venues for quotes and then ask to view them. Some might surprise you but you definitely can't get a feel for a place unless you look at it. Ask for quotes first though as you don't want to fall in love with somewhere and find out it's way out of your price range.

Thanks guys.
I've been looking for a good while now. Everywhere I've loved (apart from one place that's basically just a a bar) has been upwards of 2k just for the room. As I'm only wanting the evening reception there it seems a bit much. We're not doing a wedding breakfast, just after a formal sit down buffet so we're only feeding people once. I want a good chunk of my budget to go towards making it look like Halloween threw up on the tables

We are getting married at the pendulum hotel in May and so far have been very impressed
We are having the full day there and it's costing us 5000 for arrival drinks, ceremony room and 70 guests evening buffet 3 courses and guests can choose between 2 options with bottles of wine and juice for the table, dj, evening guests up to 120 and an evening buffet with 3 different options
The wedding coordinators are amazing and so helpful and we get a block of rooms reserved for guests who want to stay. And the car park next to it is £2 for 24 hours on a weekend
They seem really flexible so if you went in with your requirements they'd probably be able to help you out? X

There's a great place called Texture on Lever street. Don't think it'd be your traditional sit down buffet but it's a fab event space!

I went to a friend's wedding last weekend at Great John St Hotel and it was an amazing space. It's an old school building so very quirky. She had the day on the roof top (I only went to the evening) and then evening downstairs where there is a lounge bar and outside terrace. It wasn't huge but cosy and you could definitely make it fit a Halloween theme. It's worth a look round xx

Britannia hotels do a good package deal at very reasonable prices for city centre. I had mine at their hotel in Stoke on Trent, I couldn't fault it at all.
