I think that I have found THE dress and I'm going to try it on again but at a different boutique. I have found it in another boutique for a cheaper price but I prefer the staff and environment in the more expensive boutique. I'm just wondering whether boutiques will ever lower the price to match other boutiques to get your custom. Has anyone had experience of this?

Hi I would try it on then tell them you have seen it in another store for less it may help to knock the price down :)

Yes, I got 10% off my dress which was a big difference! Mine was still slightly more expensive than another shop but I loved the girls in the one I chose, they deserved the sale! Xx

This happened to me but by accident.. I tried a dress on in one shop that I liked then saw it again in another shop.. turned out to be the one. When I mentioned I'd seen it elsewhere she matched the price. If the shop are able to they should.. they could check the other price and there are minimums set by designers that dresses must be sold for but they should hopefully be able to do something for you x

My dress was originally 1300 but it was on sale for 900, I said (genuinely) I needed to go away and think about it as it was out of my price range she asked what that was and I said my max was 500 and I couldn't believe it but she said "it was one of a kind and suites me perfectly so if I coukd stretch to 550 it was mine" so I snapped her hand off hehe. I'm guess even by selling me it at that price she still made some profit on it. Worth a try xxx

I would ask to see if they will price match. It is worth the try x

Also worth checking if one of the stores do in house alterations. If you have to pay a bit more for the dress but don't have to try to find a good seamstress afterwards it can make it a lot less stressful! X

This happened to me, I asked if they would price match and they said that they are given a rrp by the designer and that they would have to report the other shop for going under the rrp, they did however lower the price x

I bought my dress from a beautiful boutique I told her my budget and we found some dresses but also sneaked in a more expensive one that was beautiful I ended up falling in love with the more expensive one and she knocked £500 off to meet my budget

Give it a go. If you don't ask you don't get. Nothing to lose.

I had a similar thing. Saw the dress for 1 price. Went to another boutiquenand i loved the lady. Told her about the dress and she got one in for me. Id booked to go to a trunk day of hers which would have had 20% off. She honoured this, despite me not needing to go anymore and even made me a veil with lace to match my dress for free
