Has anyone on here eloped instead of planning a big wedding? I have a big family, that I know would all love to attend our wedding, but we're not close. I hardly speak to any of them, not through dislike, just don't see/speak due to work commitments etc. We're quite a private couple so starting to think elopement would be the easier option! Does anyone have any elopement experiences they can share? Thanks in advance.

Do what makes you happiest. You could always have a big party afterwards for everyone if you wanted to please people x
My friends daughter eloped and got married as none of the parents get on. They were all taken aback a little as no one knew and they found via Facebook but it actually worked better as she did separate celebrations when she got home and there was no falling out or awkwardness x
