Has part of our package each guest gets 3 glasses of wine with their meal in the afternoo . We got told that we can have any changes that we like. I dont know to change the wine and ask the company to put the money behind the bar for a bit of a free bar in the evening. Has I know not everyone will drink the wine, at least if the money is behind the bar more people will get a free drink.
Could you maybe change it to a few bottles of wine on the tables and some bottles of beer? X
I think you should do what makes you happy Hun. We get 2 glasses per person or 2 beers if they prefer. Any left over they go round again or we can keep it for the evening x
Hi I agree with Naomi good luck :)
I think hav the wine we thought not everyone would drink it but they did & prople statted to relax & mingle & hav more fun
I think if u just have wine on the table and one person drinks like a fish they may drink more than the person next to then so not very fair. Our venue said they will go round and pour the drinks
Like someone else has said how about seeing if there can be a choice ie glasses of wine or beer/cider? Three glasses of wine per person wouldn't equate to that much for a free bar. To be honest wine is kind of the norm for weddings and most people will either drink it or go to the bar and get themselves something they like, I wouldn't over think it :)
We had the wine at ours and arranged soft drinks for children and non-alcoholic packages for people who don't drink or were pregnant etc. It worked well for us but talk to your venue about what will work best for you x
It's entirely up to you, it's worth asking the question to the venue.
We had a designated amount of bottles for each table in our package and the waiters walked around with them but didn't leave them on the tables (only the top table kept their bottles) and there were jugs of water on the tables and it worked really well. Those that didn't want to drink just went to the bar themselves and got what they wanted. I honestly wouldn't worry too much about people's individual preferences as people don't generally expect a lot of choice at weddings and will make do with what's on offer.
I personally don't drink so I think having a tab at the bar is a better idea
We had 3 choices. Wine, lager and fresh orange and a a choice of juice for the kids. Xx
Our budget only stretches to 1 drink with the speeches. So we have had drinks vouchers made and one will be given to everyone in the day. So they can go to the bar and pick what they want. I have children , pregnant women and non drinkers all at my wedding in the day. So rather than make everyone drink the same. Or give out wine. People can choose what they want. X
3 glasses of wine per person. Have they said what size glasses. 3 large glasses is equivalent to a bottle of wine. They say glasses as it doesn't sound so bad as a bottle. Xxx
Our package includes prosecco for arrival drinks and toasts. We don't want arrival drinks so the bottles that would have been used for that is being taken to my hotel room for me and hubby to be
We had drinks vouchers made and put on the tables for our guests to take to the bar and get whatever they wanted x
We had bottles on the table, whatever was left was placed on the bar for people to help themselves too
Another option would be to get people to swap their table name cards for a drink at the bar. That way people will all get a drink. If you just have money behind the bar some people will order double shots of whatever or 2 drinks.... I've seen it happen time and time again. Speak to the venue but just another option.xx
Last month we to a went to a wedding that cost as much as a deposit for a house and hardly a drink was to be had, 3 bottles of wine per table of 10 and 2 bottles(small) of water and 1 bottle of something like a J20as almost everyone on our table was driving the wine amount was more than we needed but when we asked for more non alcoholic drinks, none were available, perhaps give some thought to the guests who drive sometimes long distances to be there and what might be available to them, it isn't always about how much alcohol there is. Even some jugs of fresh lemonade would have been fantastic, good luck X
Speak to your venue as my package had this and I arranged for beer , bucks fizz , wine or juice (for the kids) as the free drinks rather than just house wine at no extra cost :) x
Some places do drink tokens, so guests can choose their own drinks
