So we're getting married August 2018 and have been looking at honeymoon destinations. The problem is that I'm terrible when it comes to being hot, I can barely stand the summer temperatures here. Can anyone suggest some cooler honeymoon destinations that have plenty to do and won't break the bank???
Hi how about the channel islands they have the same weather as us,and you don't need a passport as they are British Islands good luck :)
Does it have to be abroad? A friend of mine stayed in a treehouse in Scotland for her honeymoon and it looked so relaxing and romantic
It depends what you like? If you're into hiking etc. I would 100000% recommend Norway! So gorgeous. Have a look at places like Austria, Amsterdam etc. And if you go later in the year, Italy isn't too hot. I went to Italy in September a few years ago and it was warm, but not hot i had to have a little jacket on. Hopes this helps x
oo also Germany! Sorry. I love Germany though :) x
I haven't looked so could be way off but what about Scandinavia or Iceland or something? Not sure what their weather is like then but might be worth a look? X
Iceland or Norway!! Chamonix might be good too ☺
Iceland, Norway, Sweden, Switzerland, Alaska, Canada... :)
Why not just stay in this Country we are doing Forest Holidays in Nottingham and i cannot wait
We have planned Italy in the September so a few months after the wedding which is something else to lool forward too and also i strugglt with the heat as i hate beach and pool holidays(bored quickly) and love to explore comfortably x
We did a mini honeymoon moon in Norfolk and a big honeymoon in New York in December it was amazing!
We're going to whitby neither of us were bothered about going abroad and it's a place we both love x
Iceland we have found not badly priced with 2 excursions 1 being to see the northern lights. i am also getting married same time as you and delaying honeymoon to november. Best to go in spring or winter im told. Thomsons is who i will book through
We are hoping to go to cornwall for ours. X
Croatia was on our list as it's meant to be lovely but we went to Greece in the end.
We are staying in a log cabin in mid Wales in November. I don't like the heat myself. So looking forward to the log cabin and hot tub.we got ours from hoseason. Xx
Ireland is beautiful. And never too hot, just remember your umbrella. The country is so nice though, lots to explore, or relax in a nice hotel. The food everywhere we ate was amazing. And it won't break the bank. We went in August two years running for a wedding and the flights and accommodation was really nicely priced. We booked really early to get a good price, in the January or February.
Cruises around the Norwegian fjords look amazing.
Iceland is extremely expensive once you get there. We went for a week for our honeymoon. Took £1000 spending money and had to get more out. I would recommend going to any European countries in late autumn and throughout winter. Places south of the Equator like South Africa will be in their winter season in August.
You could go to Iceland or somewhere in the UK or look at northern Europe too x
Norway or a cruise
Myself and my h2b are the same with the heat and don't have the most money for the honeymoon. We are looking at Paris (and Disneyland) :-) and may ask people to put money/vouchers towards honeymoon as wedding presents :-)
My future inlaws have just gone a cruise to the Norwegian Fjords
We're getting married end of November this year and going to New York - I can't wait to see the tree at Rockefeller centre and the ice rink and all the other sites - hopefully snowy. We are not hot weather people either xx
Vietnam - just choose where to go. We went there for our honeymoon in August 2014. Some places are really hot, others a bit cooler. Cheap once you're there too!
Hi. I'm an independent travel specialist, and advertise on ukbrides for all sorts of honeymoons. Like a lot of people on here have said, it really depends on what you like about a holiday, and of course your budget. Its your honeymoon, so should be special. Rather than a traditional travel agent, I work with you to create the perfect trip, and it doesn't cost any more, often less. There so many ' cool' options ( excuse the pun!) So its a matter finding out what you really want, then making it happen. You can contact me here Steve Friend - Brilliant Travel or email me at [email protected] we're fully ABTA and ATOL protected.
