So our wedding is booked for August 2018 when should I start looking for a dress? My weight never fluctuates I've always stayed the same size (except through pregnancy) should I be looking now or leave it till closer to the time?

My wedding is August 18 and I bought my dress 2 months ago because my weight doesnt change either. I would start looking now to give you plenty of time to find what you want x

I went looking this week for the first time and found my dress at the first shop! It's perfect and like you my weight is stable so I've bought it. A full 12 months before the wedding! Actually having the sleeves taken off and remade (which involves removing and sewing back on a lot of appliqué) so I'm glad I'm early; if it was 5 months away I'd be a nervous wreck !

I get married 3rd august 18 and found my dress in Feb! The lady in the shop said they prefer 12 month before at least so you have time to get it made and alterations etc, remember the length may need taking up and you may want to add things on. My dress was ordered in Feb and it arrives in the bridal shop in December, I wont try it on until Feb or march 18 though :) I like you tend to stick to the same weight. I would get looking, it's such an exciting experience so make the most of it :) xx

depends on what and where you go they advise you get your dress at least 16 weeks before to allow for alterations etc if any

If you are buying a dress through a boutique o would recommend start looking now. My wedding day is 10.08.18 and when I rang to make an appointment the lady explained it takes 8-10 months for the dress to be delivered and then you need fittings etc xx

I've got my dress ordered and my wedding is September 2018. It can take between 6-9 months to get a dress ordered plus alteration time (if needed) so I'd start looking sooner rather than later

My wedding is June 2018 and I bought my dress in April. I bought so it fits now but wouldn't be that dramatic if I lost a couple pound x

I get married in June 18 and found my dress in march. I am however on a diet so my dress is provisionally ordered and she suggested to order my size around 6 months before.

My wedding is August 18 and I have just bought my dress, it takes 8 months to come into store and then three months for the fitting and trials, so I didn't want to cut it too fine time wise!

I'm getting married October this year and only bought my dress a few weeks ago. My weight stays the same and i barely need any alterations so i didn't need as much tine as others. Plus when i first started trying on dresses i had a favourite i was going to buy, and after a few months i didn't like it anymore, the dress i ended up getting is completely different to anything i would've normally picked, so waiting actually worked out better for me. If you're going to need a lot of alternations, best to get it atleast 6 months before. Can i just add i got my dress from wed2b, i got to take it home that day, some places take weeks to deliver, so you need to account for that too.

My wedding is August 2018, I booked my venue last March and had bought my dress in April. I'm normally not so organized but my mother was terminally ill so wanted her to be involved in the dress making choices. I was worried about getting it so early but didn't realise it can take up to 9 months for your dress to be made and come in to store so glad I did. When my dress came it was loose as I've actually lost weight and my alterations don't happen till 6 weeks before so do whatever you feel is right xx

Definitely start looking now but don't feel pressured to find "the one" just yet. If you do, go for it, but don't be upset if it takes a while as you have plenty of time :) I bought mine 11 months before my wedding

Start looking now as it can take 10 months for a dress to be made and you never know how long it will take you to find the one. I also get married in August next year and bought my dress last month. I've bought it for my current size but I've been advised that I can lose up to 2 stone and alterations can be made up to this point. If you are planning to stay the same weight then there is no harm in looking now at all.
